For your protection and that of the HOA amenities, all residents are required to acquire a valid magnetic access card in order to access the Fitness Center and the pools. Access cards are only valid for Savannah Homeowners who are current in their Association dues. If you are a new resident, we encourage you to come by the HOA office at your earliest convenience to get your access cards. Cards are issued complimentary to Homeowners and their immediate family (owner, spouse, and their children). Your access card level is determined by your age. You will be required to complete the Access Card forms and present the following documentation:
New Resident Owners• Valid Driver’s License and closing paperwork (1st page of closing documents)• Age verification• Completed Amenities Form
Renters• Tenant Amenities form signed by the Homeowner/Landlord• Valid driver’s license and copy of the lease• Cards will be issued only to those residents listed on the

Hospitality Committee--Welcomes new residents and hosts community activities where neighbors can meet each other.

Boot Camp Babes has been held in the community of Savannah for over 8 yrs. It is an all women’s boot camp, & classes are held on Mon Wed & Fri from 5:30-6:30 am The class consist of prizes for the biggest losers, cardio, resistance/weight training, interval training, fitness games & much more. Savannah Karate ClubAges: 6 to AdultClass Day: Wednesday nights (MPR room)**Cost: Classes start at $59 per month. Savannah Dance Savannah Dance offers combination ballet and tap classes for girls ages 3-6 and performs at various community events throughout the year as well as a spring recital for family and friends. There are currently 3 class options: Wednesday: 3-4 year olds, 10-10:45 a.m.. Thursday: 3-4 year olds, 11-11:45 a.m., Thursday 5-6 year olds, 4-5 p.m. All classes take place in the MPR, and class size is limited. There is a $25 registration fee per girl and monthly tuition is $35 for the 3-4 year old classes and $40 for the 5-6 year old classes. Sibling discounts are available. Clubs and Classes
Savannah Committees Need You Help us help you have the very best events our community can offer. Volunteer for one of our many committees that include Communications, Hospitality, Landscape, Pool, Safety, Social, Sports, and Teen. We are looking for event ideas, suggestions on improving our existing events, and volunteers to help pull of the event successful and smooth! Committees meet monthly and each committee has a budget estab-lished and approved by the Board for the upcoming year. The committees are funded by the Proud Fund which is made up by part of your dues. We currently are seeking residents to fill OPEN positions on the Sports, Communications and Safety Committees. The remaining committees, Social, Landscape, Hospital-ity, Pool, Teen can always use more help from those that would like to stick around. If you have an interest in any of our committees, please contact [email protected] of Savannah We realize that many of you have too much on your plate to volunteer to serve on a committee, but would like to help when you can. As a result, the ABC committee has introduced the “Spirit of Savannah!” This group will be made up of residents who would like to volunteer a minimum of 2 hours per year to help with our committee and HOA events. Prior to each event, we will send out a call for volunteers to help in various capacities. If you can make it, just select the job and time slot you would like to help us with! This will be a great way to still meet lots of new neighbors, have some fun and help us make our events a huge success. If you are interested in becoming a “Spirit of Savannah” Volunteer, please contact Mary Stenger at 972-346-2828 or [email protected] to add your name to the list.Finance and Architectural Standards Committees If planning events isn’t your thing, but you are interested in learning more about the operations of your HOA, the Finance Committee or Architectural Standards Committee (ASC) might be a better fit.Finance Committee - If you have a finance background, please submit a resume to [email protected]. Resumes will be reviewed by the committee and if appropriate, will set up an interview.Architectural Standards Committee (ASC) - This committee is responsible for approving the ASC requests required to make changes to the exterior of your home. For this committee you must have a good working knowledge of the CC&R’s and the Design Guidelines. Members of this committee are held in confidence and meeting dates are not posted. Please contact [email protected] if you are interested in finding out more about the ASC. Once you have served on one of the committees and would like to become even more involved in learning how the HOA functions you may apply for a position on the Advisory Board.Advisory Board Committee (ABC) - The ABC currently has 4 members: Scott Stankus, Cathey Mc-Lellan, Glenda Fischtziur, and Barrett Walch. ABC Committee members are required to have served a minimum of 6 months on another committee before applying for the Advisory Board. Resumes stating why you want to be an ABC member can then be submitted to [email protected] for review by the ABC and Management. Following the review, interviews are conducted by the Committee and the Savannah Board of Directors for final approval.

CommunityNewsDeveloper’s CornerSavannah is now home to over 1,550 families with another 50
families expected to move in by the end of the year. The build out of Savannah will have approximately 2,400 homes and is expected to occur within the next 5 years.
Below are some quick updates on the development of Savannah:Nathan Carlisle opened Club Isabella with a Grand Opening on July 19, 2014.
Club Isabella is restricted for use by Isabella residents and is a sub association of Savannah. Hayden Park has also started construction in Isabella Village with some modifications, based upon resident’s suggestions.
Oglethorpe Village has finally seen the landscaping in Shawnee Park! We hope it to be complete at the time of this issue. At the suggestion of some residents, the dog park was bisected into an area for large dogs and an area for small dogs. Some of the landscaping was held off until the cooler weather arrived.
The first phase of Azalea Village started construction in late August. This village is located north of Fish Trap Road and will have a mix of the TND and traditional homes. These lots are anticipated to be completed for LionsGate Homes and Bloomfield Homes in the first quarter of 2015.
Marietta Village should be wrapping up construction by the end of the year and Grand Homes will be selling in this phase. This phase also includes Holly Park, which will be home to the new pool complex and park. We are working for the complex to be open for the 2015 Summer Pool Season. This complex will be open to all Savannah residents.
Georgia Village is now home to History Maker Homes and sales are doing well. These lots were delivered in August 2014 and landscaping and fencing projects along Magnolia Boulevard are expected to be complete at the time of this article.
Union Park, our neighbors to the west, broke ground in July 2014 and will be delivering approximately 400 lots in their first phase. Below is a concept plan provided by Hillwood Development in August 2014.

State Traffic Laws Now Apply in Savannah
On July 8, 2014 the Denton County Commissioners Court unanimously ruled that the county will begin to enforce traffic regulations in DCFWSD #10 which includes all of Savannah. Prior to this ruling, the Denton County Sheriff’s Office lacked the ability to issue citations for traffic violations. After receiving numerous complaints from res-idents regarding drivers failing to adhere to traffic regulations, your Board of Directors of the DCFWSD #10 petitioned the Commissioners Court to take action. Texas Government Code Section 791.035 provides that the Commissioners Court of a county may enter into an interlocal contract with the Board of a Special District to apply County and State traffic regulations to a public road in the county that is owned, operated and maintained by the District if the commissioners court finds that it is in the county’s interest to regulate traffic on the public road. Enforcement of all traffic control signs and regulations in Savannah and Artesia, including speed limits, school zone speed limits, stop and yield signs, etc. have now begun. In addition, all-terrain vehicles (ATV’s) such as 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, and go carts are prohibited from being operating on District streets and/or sidewalks. Your Board is pleased that the Commissioners Court approved this request as we believe it will create a safer environment for our community. The Denton County Sheriff’s Office has committed the resources necessary to
provide traffic enforcement. As such, please observe all traffic laws when driving in Savannah to avoid receiving a citation and partner with us to keep our roadways safe for our residents and children.

Holiday Crime Prevention Tips The holidays should be a special time when families and friends come together to celebrate the season. Unfortunately, home burglars view the holiday season a little differently. For them, it is a time of opportunity to burglarize your home for cash, credit cards, and all the new gifts of small electronics, computers, jewelry, and easily sold valuables.Please see below for some tips of what they look for when shopping for a house to burglarize. • Burglars look for an easy entry with good escape
routes. Don’t openly display your Christmas tree and gifts in the front window so it’s easily visible from the street. It’s too tempt-ing for them to smash the window and grab the wrapped packages. Also, please don’t leave gifts in your vehicles!
• Burglars look for occupancy cues like outdoor lights burning 24 hours a day, piled up newspapers, or advertising flyers hanging on the door knob. Use an inexpen-sive light timer when you are away and ask a neighbor to keep the front of your home clean of papers and debris.
• Burglars know to look for the hidden door key near the front entrance. Don’t hide spare keys under rocks, in flowerpots, or above door ledges. Instead give the spare key to a trusted neighbor.
• Burglars prefer to enter through unlocked doors or windows. Sliding windows that are not secure can be seen from distance. One holiday problem can occur when exterior Christmas light extension cords are run inside through a window and prevent it from being secured. Hire an electrician or handyman to install an inexpensive exterior outlet for your holiday lights.
• Don’t leave descriptive telephone answering machine messages like, “You’ve reached the Jones’…we’re away skiing for the Christmas holidays…please leave a message.” Burglars love to hear that they have plenty of time to break in and completely ransack your home.
• After Christmas day, don’t pile up empty gift boxes from your new computer, DVD player, or stereo receiver on the street for the garbage man. Burglars appreciate knowing that you have expensive gifts inside for them to steal. Break them down or cut them up to conceal the items better. After a lucrative burglary, the chances of being burglarized again are increased to steal the new replacement products.
• Consider a home alarm system and ensure you activate it each and every time you leave your home. 99% of all home burglaries occur during the day when no one is home.
• Last, but not least, fortify your home by installing solid core doors, heavy duty locks, longer screws in the lock strike plates and door hinges, and install second-ary security devices on all accessible sliding windows and doors.
