Santa Claus Friendly Letter Writing
Ho Ho Ho! It’s every child’s favourite time of year again. The
Christmas season is upon us and so is the tradition of children
writing a letter to Santa Claus. But wouldn’t it be a nice surprise
for Santa to open up letters which ask him about his exciting life
at the North Pole?
In class, we have been learning about the five parts to writing a
proper friendly letter. Using what you have learned about
writing a friendly letter, write a friendly letter to Santa Claus
which is sure to bring joy and excitement to him. In order to
write your letter, follow the steps below:
Begin by using the “Letter to Santa Planning Page” to plan out
what you want to say in your letter. Think about questions you
might want to ask Santa, things you may want to tell him about
your family, and 1 or 2 things you would like Santa to bring you
for Christmas.
Then begin a rough copy of your letter. Think about writing what
you have planned in sentences and paragraphs.
Once your rough copy is finished, move on and write the good
copy of your letter. Use the special “Letter to Santa” letterhead
paper for your good copy.
Finally, you will learn how to address an envelope so that Santa
will receive your letter and write back to you.
