Sandy Beach Medical Center (SBMC) is the latest project of Dr. Jesús González-

Gaytan, Medical Director.

SBMC’s Mission: To provide the fastest and most effective healthcare to local

residents and visitors of Puerto Peñasco, also known as Rocky Point, for all urgent

and non-urgent medical situations.

We are 100% Bilingual and care for Mexican and English speaking patients.

Many local residents and foreigners who live in Rocky Point for at least six months

have health insurance coverage from the U.S. and Canada. Their primary care

physicians cover most of their health care needs as well as maintain confidential

medical records.

If you are a very healthy person with no major illnesses or risk factors, there may not

be a need to duplicate health services and costs from a local clinic or physician in

Rocky Point.

On the other hand, if a person is taking more than five different medications, has had

multiple heart attacks, strokes, uncontrolled HTN (Hypertension or High Blood

Pressure), diabetes mellitus, etc., it is recommended that you are in care of a local

physician to know your medical history before a catastrophic health event occurs here

in Mexico.

It is very difficult to care for and diagnose a patient’s condition during an emergency.

Not knowing a patient’s medical history and not having prior medical records i.e. X-

rays, EKG’s, lab work, etc. that can aid your local physician during an urgent medical

crisis, creates a high risk of failure in your case.

Any medical center in Rocky Point is 3-4 hours away from a U.S. Hospital. In

addition, air ambulance services can take 3 or more hours to organize, pick up a

patient and arrive at a U.S. based emergency room. The “Golden Hour” does not exist

for any resident or visitor in Rocky Point until a full service hospital is established.

Be prepared before a medical catastrophe happens to you, your family or friends.

“YOUR ALL-IN-ONE HEALTHCARE DESTINATION.”
