Hello parents, carers and friends of Sandy Beach Public School, As a result of the pandemic that is now affecting Australia, the number of students attending school has dropped significantly to approximately 30 per day rather than our usual 358. Our school remains open to support those parents who must leave their homes and attend work. We thank our community who have assisted in trying to slow the spread of Covid 19 and joined staff in a new challenge of learning from home. Teachers have been busy developing online resources with Google Classroom being used by Years 5 & 6 and Seesaw by Kindergarten to Year 4. If required, paper packs are available and can be collected from the office. From this week, to assist in flattening the curve on the spread of coronavirus, all staff will be rostered on face to face and working from home days. All students who attend school will continue to be supervised by teachers, completing tasks set by grade teachers which reflects the same content completed by students learning at home. Updates will be posted regularly on our school Facebook page and / or Skoolbag app. We encourage everyone to check in regularly to these. No events or meetings will be held at school, this includes our P&C meeting which was scheduled for next Monday. Once again, thank you for your understanding of the dramatic changes made to daily school life in such a short period of time. Stay safe and stay healthy. In the interest of keeping as much normality as possible for you and your children, at this point in time or until we are told otherwise by the education department WE WILL BE REMAINING OPEN and operating throughout the remaining school term and during the school holidays. We are working closely with all the relevant authorities and maintaining the appropriate precautions with respect to the increased health standards.

Unfortunately, due to restrictions placed on other industries and venue providers, our programs will have to be somewhat modified, but rest assured we will be “keeping it real” as possible for the kids.

Bookings are still essential for the safety and care of your children.
