THE RESPONSIBILITY OF OUR FAITH Today is a day simply to ponder the fact that in baptism we were claimed by God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The first reading from Deuteronomy prompts us to fix in our hearts the truth that God is the Lord of both heaven and earth and there is no other god. Saint Paul reminds us that, because we received the Spirit of adoption in baptism, we are now children of God. In the Gospel Jesus charges us with the re-sponsibility to make other disciples. These realities make today’s solemnity a day of praise, adoration, and responsibility. It is a fitting day to thank God for the absolutely free gift of faith that we were given in bap-tism. It is also a day to ask God for strength to take on the responsibility of sharing that faith with others. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc

Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

Use Your Envelopes or use On-Line Giving We encourage everyone to use their envelopes or On

Line Giving. Think of your envelopes or on-line giving as a gift to God. You take the time to thoughtfully, prayerfully

choose your gift, wrap it and present it eagerly to our Lord. Many times families will ask for a letter stating that they are registered, participating members of San Sebas-

tian in order to become a Godparent, Confirmation Sponsor or simply to enroll in Catholic Schools. Using

your envelope or Online Giving makes our job easier and allows us to say “Yes! this family is registered &

participating here at San Sebastian. “

There is an urgent need for volunteers to distribute the Eucharist to parishioners who are homebound & also Catholic residents of some local nursing homes and rehab centers. This is a rewarding ministry that would involve leading a communion service for nursing home residents, & bringing communion to those residents unable to a end, You do not have to be a Eucharis c Minister for regular Masses to qualify. Training will be provided. There is also a need to

assist our priests & deacons who say Mass at nursing homes. Jenene Karamon 501-9912/ [email protected]
