May 21, 2017 Sixth Sunday of Easter

PEOPLE OF HOPE Throughout this Easter season the readings have drawn us into the experience of the early church. We have tasted the excitement and zeal of the first Chris-tians. Now, with them, we listen to the words of Saint Peter, who reminds us that when people notice that we are people of hope, we should be ready to explain why. This challenges us. Do others even notice that we are people of hope? In a world often marked by cynicism and hopelessness, do we stand out as people who offer hope and reassurance to others? In today’s Gospel Jesus promises that when he leaves the earth he will not leave us orphaned. Today he promises to send his Advocate, the Spirit of truth who will be with us always. Let us acknowledge the presence of the Holy Spirit and ask the Spirit to make us people of hope. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

Use Your Envelopes or use E-Giving We encourage everyone to use their envelopes. Or E-Giving. Think of your envelopes or on-line giving as a gift to God. You take the time to thoughtfully, prayerfully choose your gift, wrap it and present it eagerly to our Lord. Many times families will ask for a letter stating that they are registered, partici-pating members of San Sebastian in order to become a Godparent, Confirmation Sponsor or simply to enroll in Catholic Schools. Using your envelope or E-Giving makes our job easier and allows us to say “Yes! this family is reg-istered and participating here at San Sebastian Catholic Church.”
