6 Factory Preset Calibration

Three-step aging process for optimal calibration conditions

Each monitor undergoes a three-step aging process to prepare the display for conditions that are similar to those of actual usage. This is required before calibration can take place.

5x5 area calibration for consistent luminance across displays

Display panels and backlit units possess tiny performance differences. This causes each display to inevitably show local uniformity deviation. Measuring the local brightness of a 5x5 area in a single display and adjusting local uniformity to 90% accuracy or higher makes Samsung color management technology superior to our competitors’ technology. Users do not need to purchase additional equipment software.

Accuracy for finely tuned shades of white

Samsung videowalls create the precise shade of white by fine-tuning the RGB color balance. Samsung factory calibration manages the white balance of each display within a 300K error range for color uniformity. Displays are tuned for uniform white balance and brightness over multiple panels, providing more vivid and accurate images.

Gamma and grayscale correction for greater detail and depth

Gamma and grayscale calibration tunes the display to show natural shading and gradation without color distortion. Before calibration, an uncorrected gamma curve results in unsaturated and distorted color. After calibration, the color is saturated and the grayscale is smooth. The Samsung Advanced Color Management (ACM) 16-bit internal chipset processes images and color at the highest performance available in the videowall display market. White balance adjustment options

Users can adjust the displays’ white balance through three options:

1. Auto Calibration Calibrates displays automatically according to user-set target values.

2. Manual Calibration Can then be performed to fine-tune the RGB gain and offset, digital gain, contrast and BLU brightness values.

3. Duplicate Calibration Can be used to “copy and paste” the calibrated result to other displays.

Gamma calibration

Calibration occurs in steps of 32, 64 & 128. Users can accurately measure the grayscale by the supporting standard of DICOM designed for medical digital imaging and communications standards
