Examiner’s Notes

It is evident that you have implemented my earlier suggestions and you have performed better in this test. However, you should focus more on these listening question types: - Flow-chart Completion - Summary Completion

Here are some tips to help you with Flow-chart questions: - Read the instructions carefully so you know how many words you can write. - Try making predictions before you listen to the recording. For example, you could have made a prediction about question 10 in the test. - Think about the words before and after the question before the recording starts. Can you think of any synonyms?

Examiner’s Notes

You have improved your performance in multiple choice questions and summary completion questions as per our previous talks. It seems that you still have to work on the “Identifying Writers’ Views” question type. Based on your answers, I suggest that you always read the first statement carefully and skim for detailed information in the article. It will be easier to find the related information by looking for the numbers, places, names or bold text in that statement.

Writing Detailed Score

Criteria Score Notes

TA/TR = Task Achievement/Task Response

6 All parts of the task are addressed although some ideas are inadequately developed. A relevant position is given but it could be more clearly expressed.

CC = Coherence and Cohesion 6 There is an overall progression throughout, but the wordy beginning of each paragraph has reduced coherence.

LR = Lexical Resource 7 There is a wide range of vocabulary, but with occasional errors in word choice and collocation.

GRA = Grammatical Range and Accuracy

6 A wide range of structures has been used, with some errors in grammar and punctuation.

Writing Band Score 6

Examiner’s Comments

Examiner’s Notes

Even though you did very well one your last writing, you still have to work more actively on your grammar. I will send you a document that will help you with your grammatical mistakes.

To get Band 7 you need frequent error-free sentences. It does not matter if these sentences are simple, as long as they are correct. For Task 2, the sentences in the introduction, the topic sentence (first sentence) of paragraph 2 and 3, and the sentences in the conclusion should all be simple and accurate. You should use more complex sentences to provide supporting details in paragraphs 2 and 3.

Speaking Detailed Score

Criteria Score Notes

FC = Fluency and Coherence 6.5 You would lose bands because of the noticeable hesitations & self-corrections.

LR = Lexical Resource 7 We noticed repetition of words that are incorrect and inappropriate and would affect the score negatively.

GRA = Grammatical Range and Accuracy

6 The usage of words / sentence construction is inappropriate here and would result in a loss of band.

P = Pronunciation 7.5 It is spoken in clear English that can be understood throughout and you have used accurate words & appropriate intonation, wherever needed.

Writing Band Score 7

Examiner’s Notes

You have spoken for a little more than 2 minutes at a medium speed on ideas relevant to the given topic. However, there are a few noticeable hesitations and self-corrections, which would result in a loss of score.

The speech is coherent and the thoughts are organized as – an introduction, body and a conclusion, covering all the 3 points given in the cue card.

In your speech varieties of words have been used to present ideas. However, in the below mentioned sentences:

really really biggest in my life

we composted the Green Waste, we sold off the Dry Waste and we sensibly disposed off the Bio-hazard and Reject Waste.

life style change for many many people we can notice repetition of words that are incorrect and inappropriate and would affect the score negatively.

Throughout the speech, a wide range of correct simple & complex sentences have been used. However, some sentences are grammatically incorrect:

also because of changing something.

Our biggest obstacle was here
