2". IMT had a second gate? (The only second gate we remembered wasthe gap in the barbed wire fence behind the hostel).

The second surprise was the three storied MDP block where we weregoing to stay. It had air-conditioned rooms and what not. Instead ofgetting nostalgic, we got a feeling of Deja vu. The hostel block lookedstraight out of the sets of "3 Idiots". The mess hall had "grown" to twiceits size; there were basketball, tennis and badminton courts. An"Amphitheatre", which used to be the mysterious hole in the ground,

during our times, flat panel TVs all over campus, a 24 hour canteen, adouble storied "Library" open 22 hours a day. Except the white paint onthe walls of the Academic block, nothing was as we remembered it.

Our reunion action started on the 8th evening when Puru (RPurushothaman) and Uncle Tom (Sudhir Gandhi) reached campus. Theparty started with the right "spirits" when Sunny, Rajendra and Shankar

reached the campus on the 9th morning. After lunch an impromptugame of cricket and volleyball happened because we wanted to recreatethe spirit of those lazy afternoons spent on the cricket ground makingsure "The JK" was not bowled out. Late afternoon and we assembled inthe "conference room" where Cmde Acharya, the Administrative head atIMT, kick-started the festivities. The high point of the session wasmeeting Dr. Khan, who despite his age was still at it. We also celebrated

Anil Jain's (Poonam's husband) 50th birthday by cutting a cake, thoughtfully provided by ALCOM. After the group photos the "gang"shifted to the MDP block again, for dinner and post that, bid goodbye toDr. Khan and some of our mates. The rest of us shifted to theAmphitheatre for some more fun and games. We discovered IMT's RockBand and rediscovered our own Sanjay Gupta who was ready with hiskaraoke and his songbook. His daughter also sang a couple of songs and

we were unanimous that she did a better job of if than Mr Gupta. SoonMr Sudhir Gandhi sprang a surprise by doing "The Salsa". He claims he

Q: What were your most memorable moments in IMT?

    Answers:

Sudhir Gandhi: The Ram Leela prepared during the induction was avery new experience for us. At IMT it was my first stay at a hostel. I met

all my batch mates and had lots of fun. And we are kicking off in thesame vein 25 years later. Its great to continue the same wa y we left it 25years ago.

Rajkumar Koul: One fine morning, following the night long drinking,we decided that we need to get back to being healthy and we went for arun in the morning. Sunny Munshi ran in bathroom slippers from here

    till chungi and bac k.

Sunny Munshi: We forced Veer Kaul to take a shower after probably amonth. He came back in 3 minutes flat and his feet were still dry. Theman went through it so quickly that he did not even let the water reachhis feet. Veer had a lungi that he wore for over a month withoutwashing. One day I took his lungi and burnt it as it was becoming a

    health hazard.

Shanker Iyer: Puru, I and Venky were part of the curd club. I used toprepare curd in my room and after we ate at the mess; we would bringrice back to my room and gulp it up with curd. Without it, our mealswere never over.
