Feedback &
Control
Livia polymer industry
Among the various segments of packaging Livia’s products serve, LIQUOR by and
large remains the largest domain.
A very wide range of liquor products gets packaged in Livia’s PET bottles.
The apparent reasons for gradual switch over from glass bottles to PET bottles are light
weight, lesser damages in transit and cost.
PET bottles have come to symbolise one-time use, thus eliminating the possibility of
health hazards that lurk in recycled containers.
The switch over from a glass bottle to PET bottle necessarily precedes critical design
identical to the glass design.
To replicate in PET the nuances in a glass bottle’s design is always a challenge.
Sometimes, the challenges are enormous. But, when the outcome is fine, it is always a sense
of accomplishment for the team.
Innovations
UB Group (United Spirits Limited) can be said to be the single largest client
for Livia’s PET bottles for packaging liquor. With increasing prospects for this
segment, Livia is focusing on speedier production and packing solutions for specific high-
volume products.
Efforts are also on to find economical solutions for packaging Beer in PET. Some of
the solutions available at present here are either not viable enough in cost or need tie-ups with
technologies abroad.
Continuous research and development and, the desire to innovate always remain as
the motivating factors behind newer developments. Livia thanks its customers for
encouraging innovations in PET packaging solutions

considered a boon for bulk packaging of chocolates and candies.
Livia supplies PET jars in a wide range of capacities upto 9.0 L.
These help manufacturers like Perfetti Van Melle India and ITC to supply their chocolates
and candies bulk-packed in PET jars. These jars also remain as an attractive promotional tool
at retail sellers’ end.
