RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM BUILDING PROJECT

Background

Established in 1986, Samarinda Aged Services is a community based not for profit organisation offering a variety of options and choices to the older population of the Ashburton and surrounding communities in need of various degrees of support and care. Our services include Community care programs and Residential care programs.

The Program

Samarinda Residential Aged Care Facility offers high quality support for clients in need of permanent or respite accommodation in a home like environment. Our ageing in place philosophy of care is made possible because of our ability to attract and retain highly skilled and specialist staff who have the clinical expertise to provide above and beyond essential care.

Our uniqueness has made us a provider of choice to many local residents who are impressed with in house cooked meals by our award winning chef whilst enjoying peace and tranquillity in their individual rooms having access to contemporary technology that remains invisible.

Our social and lifestyle activities are individually tailored to suit resident’s past and present interests, ensuring activities are meaningful and are designed in consultation with residents and families. Our allied health ancillary services are available as needed and requested and our nursing staff arrange these.

Eligibility

The residential program can be accessed by anyone who has been assessed to have a need to respite or permanent placement. We currently conduct weekly tours which include brief information regarding our admission process.

Samarinda Aged Services has been allocated 50 new bed licenses largely due to the fact that Samarinda is a well recognised innovative service provider of excellent care with a stable and professional workforce. It is also a direct result of an increasing need for provision of high quality services to members of our community’s ageing population including Dementia care.

Over a period of approximately 24 months, commencing mid 2013, Samarinda will embark on a major building project in response to the needs of the community.
