Thank you to everyone who attended the Scott Taylor Memorial PeeWee Tournament. The team would
like to extend a sincere thank you to all players, coaching staff, families and friends who travelled to
play in our tournament and to show support at the games. We spent a lot of time planning for the
weekend and hope that we hosted an event you enjoyed and will remember! We especially would like
to thank all the Businesses, Restaurants, Clubs, Organizations and Individuals who have had a hand in
making this tournament a huge success. Their donations and time were very much appreciated. The

with such a special meaning! Congratulations to the Grand Lake Wilds on their Championship Win and

CENTRAL MIRAMICHI COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRE 11 Prospect Street, Doaktown
TEL: 365-6100
The Central Miramichi Community Health Centre will be undergoing significant renova-tions in the coming weeks to various areas in our building. Renovations to the front desk/registration area, waiting room, and front and back doors are expected to last 3 to 4 weeks. The Health Centre will continue to be open during these renovations; however, renovations add another layer of complexity to our busy health centre and we ask that
you be patient with this temporary situation.
Please ensure that you bring your Medicare card to your visit AND speak with a clerk to ensure you are registered. There will be signs posted around the Health Centre to help
redirect patients. Although ever effort will be made to ensure telephone communication will not be disrupt-
ed, it is possible. Again, this will only be temporary.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during this transition.

A voice we would love to hear;

More precious than silver or gold;
It’s a picture of our dear Mother
Whose memory will never grow old.

This month marks our children’s
25th Birthday
I took some time today to go through your chest – photos of you in
incubators, with your brother Gary and your Dad and I, also your
grandparents Jimmy and Betsy, Lee and Jean, Weaver and Jean plus
many aunts and uncles. You were / are dearly loved. I picked up your teddy
bears and gave them a huge hug. I rubbed my fingers across your names
on the hospital wristbands. I read the many special notes from family and
friends. I shook the pink and blue rattles from your uncle and aunt.
A good friend knit leggings and a sweater with teddy bear buttons. Oh, we
talk about you often and shed many tears. There were many more items in
the chest but . . . painful memories washed over me . . . it was time to
close the chest. Your loss changed us and continues to be difficult.
With our endless love – miss you more than words can express.

PROCLAMATION PURPLE DAY FOR EPILEPSY
Whereas Purple Day is a global effort dedicated to promoting epilepsy
awareness in countries around the world; and
Whereas Purple Day was founded in 2008 by Cassidy Megan, a nine-year old girl from Nova Scotia who wanted people to know that,
if you have epilepsy, you are not alone; and
Whereas epilepsy is one of the most common neurological conditions estimated to affect more than 50
million people worldwide and more than 300,000 people in Canada; and
Whereas the public is often unable to recognize the common seizure types or how to respond
with appropriate first aid; and
Whereas Purple Day is celebrated annually to increase understanding, reduce stigma and improve the
quality of life for people with epilepsy through the country and globally,
I therefore proclaim TUESDAY, MARCH 26, 2019 as Purple Day in the Village of Doaktown.
