Playing Field Equipment Upgrade

The Project is moving forward

There has been a lot of activity over the last few months by the Working Group which consists of Parish Councillors and residents from the Parish. Behind the scenes the working group have met with representatives from three play equipment specialists who supplied us with some wonderfully exciting illustrated designs and initial costs for this comprehensive project to redevelop not only the under 11’s fenced area but also the area for the teenagers. In September the working group distributed a questionnaire throughout the Parish asking for your thoughts and suggestions on what you would like to see in the playing field. Although the number of responses was disappointing the group have taken on board all the comments and suggestions made. The group have now, based on the questionnaire and the designs received, come up with a detailed breakdown of the play equipment required and have gone back to all three companies asking them to update their designs and costs to incorporate our wish list. Once these designs have been received the group will meet again and prepare a recommendation to go to the Full Council for consideration. The aim is for this recommendation to go before the Council at their meeting on Wednesday 15th November. The design will be on display from 6.00pm for everyone to view, or you can call into the Parish Office on Thursday 9th November between the hours of 11am and 3.00pm to view. The Working Group are aiming and confident that this exciting project will be started in the Spring 2018 and completed ready for the Summer 2018. Many of you may have noticed that the five a side goal posts have been replaced recently and we have noted how popular and how much these are being used.

Snow Wardens

Warwickshire County Council are looking for volunteers to help clear pavements, cul de sacs or to simply spread salt to steep inclines or areas of high footfall. Anyone interested please contact the Clerk and she will forward your details.

Community Speed Aware Group

Volunteers are needed Urgently

More volunteers are needed to make use of the Speed Gun which is shared between Alcester, Welford and ourselves. District Councillor Mark Cargill is co-ordinating the training. Once the Community Speed Aware Group become visible on our roads it is envisaged that it will encourage drivers to obey the speed limits throughout our village. . If you would like to volunteer to join this group then please contact the Clerk.

Hedges and Trees obstructing footpaths and roads

It has been brought to our attention that a number of overgrown trees and hedges are obstructing footpaths and roads around the parish. Please check and cut back any overgrown garden hedges and trees for overhanging branches, which could be a health and safety risk for anyone walking or driving past.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Please leave only paw prints! Obey the law and pick that

dog poo off the ground!

DID YOU KNOW One of the biggest environmental issues for residents in the Parish is dog fouling? It’s time to take action and clamp down on culprits…

THE LAW Failure to clean up after your dog is a criminal offence and could result in a £75 on-the-spot Fixed Penalty Notice. Non-payment could lead to a court fine of £1,000. There is no defence to claim ignorance of your dog’s actions. Only registered blind owners of guide dogs are exempt.
