Congratulations to the students from the 3:30pm, 4:30pm, 5:30pm and 10:00am classes for completing their final books of Let’s Go 3- 6 & New Headway Elementary in the English program. We are very proud to see them graduate and wish them luck in all they do in the future.
Pchum Ben and Certificate Delivery Celebration In September, our students, staff, and volunteers celebrated the Pchum Ben and Certificate Delivery Party who graduated successfully before we had a break for our annual Pchum Ben holiday. 220 certificates offered to the students. We had a lot of fun with traditional Khmer games, dances and food. Work Experience and Apprenticeships We are pleased to announce that 58 of our young adults benefitted from work experience and apprenticeships at Pacific Hotel (www.pacifichotel.com.kh ) in Siem Reap. We are very pleased to see the links we are forging with business partners around Siem Reap. It is very beneficial to the students.
In December, we conducted our 2nd parent meeting. About one hundred parents attended the meeting where we encouraged them to support the children’s learning. Women’s Resource Center also introduced their training to the parents for 2015 by financial support from Diakam. Thanks for collaboration.

School News Life Skill Students Visit a
Hotel
In October, the third
generation of life skill
students attended their visit
and tour of Soria Moria Hotel.
This was a great opportunity
for them to see the reality of
working in the hotel industry,
gain knowledge and
experience, and to guide
them to a potential future
career while they are starting
their career training and job
search.
Spelling Bee Competition
We launched a competition among SK students called the Spelling Bee Competition. This competition aims to improve English language of our students. They recognize new words- meaning, part of speech, how to use them.
Angkor Wat Bike Race and
Ride 2014
In December, more than 30 staff
and students participated in the
race and ride. Our executive
director, Ravy committed his
first challenge to cycle 30km for
SK fundraising. They enjoyed it
very much. Thanks HOPE &
individuals for your
contributions.
Traffic Law Training
In December, we invited a
traffic police officer to
conduct a traffic law training
to more than 60 students. It
is very important for the
students to gain knowledge
about traffic laws, signs and
penalties as well as reduce
traffic accidents.
They enjoy it a lot with
questions and answer.

-Mr. Chuot Chhunlim, financial
manager at Pacific hotel shared his work experience with SK students about front office work and responsibility.

Staff Development and Training Staff training and capacity building have been ongoing throughout the past 6 months:
From July to December this year, a consultant, David is coaching and training our executive director on basic fundraising-proposal writing and concept note.
Four of our staff continue their studies at ACE to improve their English language skills. Our former volunteers and donors, Heather and Patrick (Diakam) visited our school and provided
teacher training on Cooperative Learning Strategy Review. Director Ravy conducted child protection workshops to our staff and students separately. Director Ravy and librarian David participated in a teacher training with HOPE Education in Phnom
Penh. Our librarian participated in a library training with Room to Read org in Siem Reap. Our volunteer from AFID, Eva, coached our accountant on QuickBooks Accounting, how to set up a
budget plan according to projects and donors, improve accounting code and fixed asset registration.
Football After skipping a football season for almost three months, in October this year our football team has been set up and continued training and coaching our students. We have four football teams: two boy teams for U13s, one girl team for U14s, and one boy team for U16s. Many thanks to our supporters who contribute their donation.
We have been participating in the Globalteer Junior Soccer League in Siem Reap. They play fantastically, grow in confidence, and show real team spirit.
Global Giving In July and October, we participated in Bonus Day-Online Fundraising with
Global Giving to find more donors and donations through online
fundraising. We will continue to work to raise essential funds for the
organization through this partner. We maintain our fundraising campaigns to
support our, “Enhance 200 Cambodians’ Lives through Education” and “Support Sexual
Education for Young Cambodians” projects. Funds are intended for use across all of our educational
programmes within the organization. We would appreciate you taking the time to have a look at our
page here, and to share it with your friends, colleagues, and family. It is a safe, secure way to give to
Salariin Kampuchea.
