CDOS CREDENTIAL

This credential will recognize each individual student’s preparation and skills for post-school employment. Where in the past, many students graduated with an individualized education program (IEP) diploma, this credential provides a more meaningful substitute for these students. For students with disabilities who are exiting with a regular high school diploma, it provides them with the additional opportunity to exit school with a credential that also recognizes the students’ work readiness skills.

COMMENCEMENT JUNE 2019

Our students and your children will be college and career ready.

WHAT DO COLLEGES LOOK FOR IN OUR STUDENTS?

Transcript GPA

Type of Diploma

Class Rank

Extra-Curricular Activities

WHAT IS A TRANSCRIPT?

A transcripts an inventory of the courses taken and grades earned by a student throughout their education career.

Our counseling department will keep your official transcript

HOW IS CLASS RANK DETERMINED?

We utilize a weighted system: promotes an incentive to take challenging courses

Class rank will be computed on the basis of an weighted Index system

The more challenging the class the larger the Index Value

The Index for each subject is calculated by multiplying the weighted index by the final course grade

We identify our Valedictorian and Salutatorian and establish each student’s rank in their respective class.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Attendance at school is vital

Parents please notify the school via telephone the day when an absence occurs 945-2404 ext 6201

Absences are excused or unexcused

NYS law requires students to attend school a minimum of 85% of the time

Students who finish 9th Grade on-track are FOUR TIMES more likely to graduate from high school!!!!

This means you must be in attendance and participate in your education.

Students who miss at least 20 days (2 days per month) –also known as chronic absenteeism- had lower grades and were more likely to drop out!!!

Please make arrangements if your child is out an extended period of time
