Chili Cook-Off The 11th Annual St. Joseph Men’s Club Chili Cook-off will be on Saturday, January 25, 2019 in the Parish Hall. Tickets will soon be available from Men’s Club Members, at The No Name Books & Gifts on Reid Ave., at the Church Hall office (227-1417), or from Dan Van Treese (227-8138). If you would like to compete call Dan at the above number.
Get Fed/Religious Ed Get Fed and Religious Education resume this Wednesday! Everyone in the parish is invited to come to the parish hall on January 8 at 6:00pm for dinner, followed by a talk (for the adults) and religious education (for the kids). Everything will finish by 7:30pm.
Special Men’s Club Meeting A special Men’s Club meeting will be held on Monday, January 13th at 6PM in the Parish Hall. The purposes of the meeting are to recruit new members to the club, and elect new officers (Dan Van Treese is retiring as President after serving in that capacity the past 9+ years.) The Men’s Club has been instrumental in raising funds for a variety of worthy causes since its inception in April, 2008. We hope to continue our success, but always need new members to help make that happen. Originally, we met periodically to promote fellowship, encourage spiritual development of our members, and plan special events. However, due to lack of attendance, meetings were discontinued, with the exception of event meetings. We would like to institute regular meetings once again, with a renewed commitment of the membership to make that work. Membership is open to all men of St. Joseph Parish 18 years or older. If you are not a current member, please consider joining. If you can’t attend on January 13th but wish to join anyway, please let Dan Van Treese know (227-8138, [email protected]).
2019 Catholic Sharing Appeal Thank you to all who contributed to last year’s Catholic Sharing Appeal. We surpassed our goal. That means we are fully supporting the mission of the diocese and the extra comes back to us, allowing us to do more at our parish, living and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Port St. Joe!
