traditions. We strive to grow in our faith by being good stewards of the gifts God has given us; sharing God’s
truth with all. As the Body of Christ, we are called to love and serve everyone, especially the marginalized, with
joy and hospitality.

Mass Intentions
Our prayer support is with …
Fr. Mike Roach and family in the death of his father William “Bill” who passed away on March 31.
The family of Carmen Viglino who passed away recently.
May the healing hand of our Lord Jesus be felt by all who are coping with grief
and missing loved ones.
Happy Easter! As we celebrate this great Feast of New Life, we pray that you and your families will know the Peace that can only come from the Risen Lord Jesus.
To all who are visiting our community this Easter Sunday, we welcome you and want to invite you to consider St. James as a 'home' for your family ̶ to come grow with us in the Goodness of God's Love.
This is a very exciting time for us here at St. James. It is our hope that within the next year, we can break ground for our new church.
This is a very challenging endeavor that takes all of us doing our part. To those who have pledged to our Building Fund, we thank you for your faithful-ness to paying off that pledge. We have to have 50% of the total cost of the building on hand before we can break ground, and that's the challenge, but with all of us doing our part, that can happen.
To those who have not made a pledge and have not 'come on board' yet, we would like to invite you to do so. Just let us know in the Parish Office, and we can make that happen.
This season of Easter lasts for 50 Days, so that we can celebrate the New Life that the Risen Lord brings. We welcome our young children to the altar in the celebration of First Communions, and we lis-ten to the various Resurrection stories, where the Risen Lord Jesus appears to the disciples and oth-ers and assures them not to be afraid, but to go and be witnesses of God's Goodness and Love in all that they do.
May we live out this Easter message by being peo-ple of Hope, Peace & Love to all we meet. And may our own faith be deepened as we live out this mes-sage each and every day.
Blessings to you and all your family,
Peace, Fr. Mike

Someone is Watching and Wondering A from the Liturgy/Music Office
The summit of the Liturgical Year is the Easter Triduum, which began the evening of Holy Thursday, reached its high point in the Easter Vigil, and closes with Evening Prayer today, Easter Sunday. Though chronologically three days, liturgically the Triduum is one day, one con-tinuous prayer, unfolding for us the unity of Christ's Pas-chal Mystery. This single celebration (the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, Good Friday of the Lord’s Passion, and the Mass of the Resurrection of our Lord) marked the end of the Lenten season and lead us to the joy filled New Fire, Sacred Stories, Initiation Sacraments, and Sacred Meal of the Easter Vigil. Personally I must confess that the Triduum is my favorite liturgy of the year, the most emotional, and filled with an-ticipation. As Director of Adult Initiation I am so blessed to watch the Elect come forward, at the Easter Vigil to be baptized, and to later be joined with our Candidates for Full Initiation into the Catholic Church in receiving the sac-raments of Confirmation and Eucharist. However, for me the beginning of the Vigil, with the Paschal Proclamation (Paschal Praeconium or Exsultet), is a time of personal reflection. This triumphant hymn and sacramental is “a majestic proclamation of the Resurrection of Christ, a dra-matic invitation to heaven and earth to join with the Church in joy and jubilation” (Dom Jerome Gassner, O.S.B., catholicculture.org) This proclamation begins: “Exult, let them exult, the host of heaven, exult, let Angel ministers of God exult, let the trumpet of salvation sound aloud our mighty King’s triumph. Be glad, let earth be glad, as glory floods her, ablaze with light from her eternal King, let all corners of the earth be glad, knowing an end to gloom and dark-ness. Rejoice, let Mother Church also rejoice, arrayed with the lightning of his glory, let this holy building shake with joy, filled with the mighty voices of the peoples.” These simple, beautiful words unite all God’s people, His entire creation in Heaven and on Earth in joyously an-nouncing our salvation, won through the suffering of Jesus on the Cross. It announces that death cannot conquer life. It proclaims and promises resurrection. The Exultet challenges us to not be silenced, but rather to lift our voices, loudly proclaiming the Good News of Christ Jesus. It challenges each of us to open our hearts to His glory and grace, to allow His will in our lives, to not fear, but to celebrate life. For me, this is the true message of Easter.
Your sister in Christ, Sandy Gagnon

That's a Buck Night game with fireworks. We'll have buses for those who want to avoid the hassle and expense of driving and parking, but it's not a require-ment for going.
Tickets will be going on sale after Easter. There are 2 options with differing prices so that families on a tighter budget won’t have to break the bank.
Watch the bulletin and the narthex for information about ticket sales! Last year, we sold completely out in no time, so be bringing that checkbook to Mass so that you can get your tickets before they are all gone!

Listen to inspiring messages from two dynamic Catholic speakers. Hear first hand how the media manipulated women to support a culture of sexual promiscuity and abortion on demand. Learn of Christ-like solutions to prevent further break-down of the family and to build strong marriages.

Thank you, Knights of Columbus!!
A special thank you to the Knights of Columbus for all the work they do for the St. James Community. We truly appreciate all of the ways you show stewardship to the church and school through activities like the Fish Fry, Trunk or Treat and the Glow Celebration. We wouldn’t be the same without your support!
The week of April 17, select teachers from St. James school will attend the National Catho-lic Education Association (NCEA) confer-ence to further enhance their profession.
Hillcrest News & Notes A New Beginning
Our thanks to everyone who made our Hillcrest apartment shine for our new tenant! Thanks to all who donated, and our hearty thanks to Joy Hanson, her children, Jacob and Emsley, and Maureen Garza for their sweat equity! Special thanks go to Mark Asbury for his stewardship of our apartment and the care he takes to make sure that our resident has a clean, well-maintained place to live, and knows our support for them as they make this jour-ney to independence.
We have a new resident − she moved in last Sun-day. Her name is Diane and she's a solo tenant. She's employed, and working to get her life back on track. We welcomed her with a lovely move-in meal, and she's very grateful for the opportunity. She told the Hillcrest director that "it was all so beautiful!" We are putting together a small Easter basket for her − if you would like to donate something simple, like bubble bath, lotion, scented candles or anything along those lines, you can drop them off at the par-ish office or at my office in the narthex.
First Communion Notes & Reminders Readiness Sessions and Banner Packets
Our picture day will be Saturday, April 22 in the church at 2pm. Don't forget to bring cash or your checkbook as David Dice will need payment that day (and he doesn't take debit cards). Picture Day is a good time to dress up in all the extra stuff that you will probably want to leave behind on the day of their First Communion− go "fancy" for the pictures and "simple" for the Big Day.
Soup Suppers I am very happy to report that our Lenten Soup Suppers raised $3,068.57 for the Don Bosco Cen-ter, this year's Lenten charity! Thanks to all who at-tended our suppers and also to those families who provided the awesomely delicious soups.
