Bible Study Seven Deadly Sins, Seven Lively Virtues
This Fall we welcome Bishop Robert Barron’s study on sin and virtue. The aim is to increase understanding, promote reflection, and encourage practical action. We will dig into Catholic tradi-tion and grapple with Scripture and the Church’s teaching as summarized in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. You will need to bring both your Bible and Catechism.

Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time August 25, 2019
FOCUS: Strive to enter through the narrow gate.
Today we are given fair warning by Jesus that we should strive earnestly to enter the kingdom of God, and not simply assume a place will be reserved for us. So let’s make an effort, as we travel the path of discipleship, to travel lightly, unencumbered by unnecessary attachments to the things of this world. LITURGY OF THE WORD: In the first reading, God proclaims that he comes to gather all nations. The sec-ond reading exhorts the Christian community not to dis-dain discipline, as it originates from God’s love. In the Gospel from Luke, Jesus tells his followers to strive for salvation through the narrow gate. REFLECTION: When we enter the final and everlast-ing banquet, Jesus tells us, we will be surprised at those enjoying the feast. God has a pretty broad vision and we will be surprised at those who "made it" through the nar-row gate. If we accept this vision of the end time, then we should start preparing for it now. We need a change of glasses; we need to look at our world through biblical lens and act accordingly. So we ask ourselves:
�� When I hear the phrase "God’s people" whom do I think are included?
�� How does what Jesus says broaden my notion of those "chosen" by God?

Volunteer for PREP Our Parish Religious Education Program is looking for teachers and aides to prepare students for the Sacra-ments and learning about the Catholic faith. Please contact Marcia Mason at 215-725-1240 for more info.
Lunch Aides at St. Cecilia School Openings are available for lunch aides for this school year. This paid position entails supervision of students in the cafeteria and the recess yard for one and a half hours a day. All clearances are required. Saint Cecilia School (2019-2020) We are still accepting registrations for students in grades Pre-K4 through 6th grade. Contact the school at 215-725-8588 for an appointment. By September 1, 2019, students entering Pre-Kindergarten must be FOUR years of age, Kindergarten students must be FIVE years of age, and students entering Grade 1 must be SIX years of age. We ask that you please bring the following items with you: 1. State Birth Certificate (NOT the hospital certificate) 2. Baptismal Certificate (if your child was baptized at St. Cecilia Church, please bring your original certificate) 3. Immunization Records 4. For students transferring from another school, you will need the Standardized Test results and/or report cards from the school, if available. We also require you pay the Registration fee at this time. $325 grades K-8; $200 for Pre-K) Tuition rates are $3,950 (grades K-8); $4,000 (Pre-K) and we use FACTS for our tuition payment program.
