From the Director: Greetings everyone. I can not believe it. It seems like yesterday it was Christmas, and now we are two months from camp. WOW! So, things are gearing up and getting busy here with the good weather. We have four teams that came to work in March. In April and May we have six teams booked to come serve, with others also preparing to come. We have several projects we are working to complete prior to the camp season. The projects prior to camp are: metal siding the barn; building a target area; new dock decking; the barn apartments renovation; wagon metal roof and enclosure; fence building; wood clearing; trail maintenance; boys dorm flooring; plus lots of cleaning; painting; & staining. If you can help, give me a call! Bring yourself or a team. There’s plenty of work to do before camp begins. 1 Sagrada Scholarship Bible Camp 28465 Hillside Rd Lincoln, MO 65338 660-668-3808 COOKIE MAKERS (Cooks & Helpers) Call Chief Big Fish! TRIMMING & CUTTING TREES GETTING

READY FOR CAMP

SAGRADA SCHOLARSHIP BIBLE CAMP

We have received 2800 children’s names on the Angel Tree list for 2018. We are praying for a great camp season with several new Angel Tree Campers. We will be sending out the official invitations after the Spring Break, and we are trusting God for a great response. We are still needing help to fill the different positions at camp for the summer. Those positions are counselors and support staff workers, as wells as, cooks and nurses on some weeks. So please pray about coming to SSBC and be a part of God’s mission of reaching lost Prisoner’s children this summer!

We are working with great anticipation of what the LORD is going to do in the lives of the campers and staff this summer at Sagrada Scholarship Bible Camp! Please pray for us this upcoming season, and about how God may use you on the mission field of SSBC. Let us know soon what you can do. Some dates are limited.

Blessings,

Chief Big Fish

NEW SHOWER HOUSE PROJECT

After camp, in August, we plan to demo the old shower house. As it has seen 22 years here at SSBC, it is in dire needs of replacement. We have had plans drawn up by an architect from Springfield, MO, and we are looking to replace the old wood structure building with a split face concrete block structure. This new building will have the same type of layout for the two sides of the bathhouse, but will include one additional shower and toilet on each side that are size compliant for ADA. This new building will also have a laundry room along the back side of the building which will make the Monday camper arrival time easier for those doing laundry.

This new building’s estimated costs for materials only, is $66,500.00. This sounds like a lot, but this building will be built to be used year round. It will also be built to last longer with its concrete block design. We will be contracting help to do the concrete work and block laying, since these two jobs require special skills for this building.

God is good. With $17,000.00 we came in under budget for the 2017 year, and having received $49,662.00 over the projected giving for the last year, God has provided $66,662.00 toward the building. Praise God that we have been able to begin this project with His provision for the material costs in hand!

We plan to have concrete poured and blocks set before Christmas time. This will give us plenty of time to work with volunteer groups to help get the rest of the project completed before the 2019 camp season. Please pray for this project, and for God’s provision for wisdom, labor, finances, and safety as we move forward.

OUR NEW GREETING AT THE SSBC GATE

We are very grateful for the awesome work American Iron Works of Neosho, MO did in fabricating the four and a half foot tall SSBC teepee logo with two wagons that are 2 1/2 foot tall, on a metal truss for our gate! Thank you Dan for the hard work, and also a big thank you to Joe & Tom from FBC Clinton who came over to help us get the 450 pound truss 17’ up into the air and set on the posts. The photo does not do this justice! So, you need to come out and check it out in person!

Camper Sponsors Needed

Currently we have received 28 camper sponsorships for this season and our goal is 200 campers for the season. Yes, this is low for this time of year. Our plan is not to turn down any camper who has a desire to come to camp. Our camper invitations are to be mailed out soon, so we are trusting the Lord to provide both for the campers to come and the financial support to make it happen. Please pray about giving to help send a child to camp that they may hear the Good News.

PRAYER CORNER

Praises

•We have had several teams on the ground so far this year, working on new projects, doing renovations on existing buildings. Thank you to: White River Fellowship from Elkins, Arkansas; FBC in Clinton, Missouri; Cedar Grove Baptist Church & Warsaw Bible Church in Warsaw, Missouri; and the several different individuals (arborists, architects, carpenters, metal fabricators, and friends) who have come to help out thus far.

• I, (Chief Big Fish), have completed my initial cancer treatment of the immunology Provenge infusions! I am continuing with hormone treatment, and in a waiting period to check how the drug is reacting with the cancer. Right now I feel great, and pretty much normal other than I get tired quicker than I used to. During the last doctor visit, I was told it is a good sign of my feeling good that the drugs are working to fight the cancer! We would ask for continued prayer as Lucinda and I walk this bend in the road.

Prayer Requests

• For Salvation and safety of the campers that God has selected to come to SSBC this summer.

• Volunteers for counselors, cooks, nurses, teachers, camp grandma’s and grandpa’s.

• Sponsorship for Campers

• General Financial support and funding for new shower house.
