SAFETY & SECURITY
THE ROLE OF THE SECURITY PERSONNEL
&
THE STUDENTS
Campus security is EVERYBODY’S concern!!!
SECURITY MATTERS… matter a lot.
The primary definition of safety is "the condition of being free from harm or risk," which is essentially the same as the primary definition of security,
which is "the quality or state of being free from danger."
1. School Uniform. Every student must wear the prescribed college uniform unless, for certain valid reasons, s/he has written exemption from the Dean of Student Affairs which s/he must show on demand. The following pictures depict the prescribed main uniform for college male and female students. For purposes of appropriate identification and special student activities, uniforms shall also be worn for practicum, field, sports, and other activities.Exemption is during washdays – WEDNESDAY/SATURDAY

OTHER UNIFORMSAlthough not mentioned in the WMSU CODE, uniforms other the prescribed one may be allowed entry provided their identification cards (ID) are checked.
1. P.E. uniforms only if the first scheduled class is P.E. . The student carries the prescribed uniform and dons them after classes and before attending other classes that is not PE related.
2. RLE uniforms. The College of Nursing and the College of Home Economics BSND students may come in their RLE uniforms direct from the field to attend classes
3. The police interns wear their “police intern uniform” only in special occasion as directed by their Dean
4. Student Teachers in their “teaching practicum uniforms” even with their nameplates should present their ID’s on call.
5. Request for exemptions from the College Deans

2A. IN THE ABSENCE OF AN ID- a certificate of registration (COR) may be used to allow entry for that day.
• The COR is not a substitute for the ID. In cases where the ID is lost, the student is advised to get a new ID following certain processes (as seen in the next slide)
• While awaiting for the new ID the COR may be allowed provided that a receipt for the renewal of ID is presented during entry to the campus
