If not treated properly all animals can be dangerous, this counts for pets and wild animals.

But there are a few simple rules which can help you stay safe around animals.

1. Don't approach animals when they are eating, sleeping or with their babies.

2. Look for the warning signs – if an animal is hissing or growling then do not approach it.

3. Always ask an adult who knows the animal before you approach it.

When walking through a field with animals in it walk slowly and quietly making sure to keep dogs under close control.

5. If an animal looks sick or hurt then don’t approach them as they may get easily upset.
