DRAFT RESOLUTION 1.2SPONSORS: Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea, Russian Federation

SIGNATORIES: Republic of India, Brazil

1 . Demands that any further military exercises in and around the Korean Peninsula to be frozen till aconsensus is achieved, with respect to all the military exercises in the Korean Peninsula, betweenUnited Sates of America, Republic of Korea and the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea through atrilateral agreement, the negotiations of which to be held from 3 months from the sanction of thisresolution, in Geneva;

2 . Requests the government of the Republic of Korea to abide by its policy of By our nation itself,as mentioned in the 15 th June 2000 Joint Declaration of Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea andRepublic of Korea;

3. Demands that the United States of America remove the following elements of the 7th Fleet in thefollowing phased manner:

a. to remove all nuclear, chemical and biological armaments from the Asia Pacific regionwithin six months of enforcement of this resolution

b. to remove all submarines and all underwater arms from the Asia Pacific Region within oneyear from the enforcement of this resolution;

4. Expresses its hope that a non-aggression pact between United States of America and DemocraticPeople s Republic of Korea will be established;

5. Demands that a Peace Treaty be established between Democratic Peoples Republic of Kor ea andRepublic of Korea, in the following manner:

a. Under the preview of an advisory body set up by the UNSC and consisting of three presentand two past judges of the International Court of Justice.

b. The Peace Treaty to be established within six months from the enforcement of thisresolution

c. The talks for the treaty to begin within 20 days from the enforcement of the resolution inGeneva, Switzerland;

6. Urges Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea to return to the Six Party Talks involving RussianFederation, United States of America, People s Republic of China, Japan and Republic of Korea, onthe failure of the peace treaty mentioned in clause 5, in the following manner;

a. the talks to be held in Switzerland, the start of which to be determined by UNSC on a laterdate;

7. Requests Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea to freeze all its on- going developmentprogrammes with regard to nuclear weapons, in exchange of protection under the nuclear umbrellaas provided for by resolution 255 of the United Nations Security Council;

8. Endorses the official end to the Armistice Agreement of 1953, between United States of Americaand the People s Republic of China;

9. Demands the uplifme nt of all economic sanctions inposed on the Democratic Peoples Reublic ofKorea in the following resolutions:

a. Resolution 825 (1993)

b. Resolution 1540 (2004)c. Resolution 1695 (2006)

0d. Resolution 1718 (2006)

e. Resolution 1874 (2009)

f. Resolution 1887 (2009)

g. Resolution 2087 (2013)

h. Resolution 2094 (2013)

10. Authorizes the establishment of a compliance body working in coordination with the governmentof the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea, consisting of the representatives from United Statesof America, Russian Federation, Japan, Peoples Republic of China, Republ ic of Korea with thefollowing agenda to check the compliance of DPRK towards maintenance of international peace andsecurity after the up -liftment of sanctions in clause 9 above. Also asks for submission of a monthlyreport by the compliance body aforementioned;
