Thank you to Glendale Kiwanis and Grainger for running our annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drop. These generous people spent the day at the Parish Ministry Office han-dling out turkeys and all the necessary items to make a complete Thanksgiving meal! These fine organizations continually support our effort to keep everyone well fed. We appreciate everything that you do! Thank you to a new “helper” this Thanksgiving. The Grand Insurance Agency, in Atlas Park, owned by Vinny LaPuma and Gary Lombardo, generously had the First Annual Thanksgiving Giveaway on Saturday, November 18th at Atlas Park. The Parish Ministry Office received vouchers for our clients to receive everything needed for the holiday meal. We thank them for helping us with our growing clientele.

NOVEMBER 26, 2017

FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK MS. JOANNE GANGI

The month of November is coming to a close this week and we are already in the “hustle and bustle” of the season. This Tuesday our Chess Club moderated by Mrs. Sally will begin. Ring Day for our 8th graders will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday. The students will gather for a beautiful prayer service and receive their rings which symbolize all of the days spent at Sacred Heart Catholic Academy (School). Following the prayer service, many of the students and their families will have lunch together at Villa Erasmo. Dress Down this month will take place on Thursday. Thursday and Friday we will be holding our Children’s Boutique. At this event, our students are given an oppor-tunity to do their own Christmas shopping for their family gifts. They diligently pick out their gifts and take pride in their choices eager to share them with their classmates and teachers. First Friday Mass will be hosted by the second grade. Fol-lowing the Mass, we will announce our December birth-days and congratulate our Students of the Month for De-cember. Our Wreath Sale will begin on the weekend of December 2nd outside of the church. Please consider buying a fresh wreath in support of our Academy. Breakfast with Santa! Sacred Heart Catholic Academy on Sunday, December 10th at 9:30 am. Ticket prices $12 which includes hot breakfast buffet, pictures with Santa, Raffles, Games, Crafts. Children 2 and under are free. For tickets call Kerri at (917) 502-3424.

All parishioners are invited to consider donating a brick to our “Pathway to Prayer” in front of the Sa-cred Heart of Jesus Statue in the newly renovated Sa-cred Heart Garden. Special intentions are carved into it and are available for $250.00. This will also help to contribute for the expenses for the Sacred Heart Gar-den. Thank you for your overwhelming generosity in sup-port of our parish and God Bless You!

ADVENT MISSION THEME: “PUT GOD FIRST”

Thank you to all the Parishioners, Sacred Heart Catholic Academy classes and local neighbors who donate food to the pantry weekly and especially for the Thanksgiving hol-iday….you help to provide families in need. Thank you, once again, to Northside Bakery, who donated the bread that was distributed at the Thanksgiving Eve Mass and Thanksgiving Day Mass! We are so grateful for this wonderful local business who supports the pantry and is part of our church family. The Consolation Ministry will meet on Wednesday, De-cember 6th at 7pm in the Parish Ministry Office. All are welcome This is NOT a bereavement group.
