SUNDAY OF DIVINE MERCY Page 7

Mission of Life Teen and Edge:

As a Eucharist-centered movement within the Roman Catholic Church, Life Teen leads teenag-

ers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. With the

Blessed Virgin Mary as our intercessor and guide, Life Teen seeks to unleash the fullness of the

Sacramental power present within the young Church.

Through powerful Eucharistic encounters and engaging catechesis, our Edge (middle school) and Life Teen

(high school) teens are immersed in a dynamically Catholic parish culture. With the parish as their true home,

our teens are then further strengthened by our Events, Resources, and Digital (web and social media) evangeli-

zation. Our goal is not only to “reach” today’s teens, but also to create an environment where Catholic teenagers

feel supported and engaged the other 167 hours a week, outside of Sunday mass.

Life Teen High School Youth Ministry meets

every other Sunday, starting with Mass at 12pm, and

then continues at 3pm in the parish hall.

All high school aged teens are welcome to join us.

INFORMATION

SCHOOL NEWS

Sacred Heart Catholic Church has formed a Parish Pastoral Council. We have been meeting since August

2014.

Its mission statement is as follows. Our mission at Sacred Heart Catholic Church is to know our faith,

live our faith through the sacraments and to share our

faith as to lead all souls to eternal life with our heavenly Father through Christ our Lord.

The purpose of the council: The Parish Pastoral Council shall be to advise and assist the pastor in his

duties as shepherd and canonical administrator of the

parish. The pastor retains the ultimate responsibility

within the parish. The Council’s decisions and recommendations shall become final and binding only

when ratified by the pastor. All authority of the

council is derived from the pastor. Thus, no action of the council or any provision contained in these

guidelines shall abridge the authority of the Pastor.

We are looking for parishioners willing to serve on

our Parish Pastoral Council. The council should be

comprised of a total of nine members with three ap-

pointed by the pastor and six to be elected. Currently

there are five members serving. Any parishioner in

good standing wanting to serve is encouraged to con-

tact the church office.
