    MISSION APPEAL BY MSFS FATHERS

I join you all in giving thanks to God for the many graces be-

stowed upon the Church through the generous and devoted

work of your members since the foundation of the Congrega-

tion by Father Pierre-Marie Mermier in 1838 --- Pope John

    Paul II

Fr. Peter Marie Mermier founded the Congregation

of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales for parish mission,

foreign mission and education of the youth. His missionary

zeal impelled him to ask the Holy Father for a mission abroad

and accept a vast mission territory in India when the Congre-

gation was in its infancy with just eleven professed members.

Today, there are 1400 priests belonging to this order work

worldwide especially in the underdeveloped parts of India and

Africa. The missionary spirits of the priests are to concentrate

the mission of evangelization in the parishes, education of the

orphans and caring the elderly (Home for the aged). The mis-

sion appeal of the day in this parish will be spent to build ‘A

HOME FOR THE AGED’ in the southern part of India. I

sincerely thank every one of you for your generous contribu-

    tion towards the aged people.

In Christ, APPEAL ON WEEKEND OF MSFS Priests, JUNE 9TH & 10TH

Missionaries of the St. Francis de Sales

There will be a meeting of our Matthew 25 group on Wednesday, June 6th at 6:00

p.m. in the cafeteria. Anyone wishing to volunteer is asked to attend this meeting. City, Civil Parish, and Diocesan leaders will be present to give 2018 updates.
