March 19/20 2011 Envelopes: $5150.00 Loose: $1277.88 Total: $6427.88

WEEKEND READINGS First Reading — As the prophet Samuel anointed David with oil, the spirit of the LORD rushed upon David and remained with him from that day for-ward (1 Samuel 16:1b, 6-7, 10-13a). Psalm — The Lord is my shepherd; there is noth-ing I shall want (Psalm 23). Second Reading — You who were once darkness are now light in the Lord. Live as children of light (Ephesians 5:8-14). Gospel — The man who was blind from birth proclaimed: The one called Jesus made clay with his saliva, anointed my eyes with it, and told me to wash. When I washed, I was able to see! (John 9:1-41 [1, 6-9, 13-17, 34-38])

YEAR OF RECONCILIATION PRAYER OF RECONCILIATION (To be prayed at weekend Masses)

God, Almighty Father, you are the one who recon-ciles us to yourself, when we have separated our-selves from you. You forgive us and you heal our relationship with you, so that we can once more live as your sons and daughters. Lord, Jesus Christ, you have commanded us to forgive others as you have forgiven us. Help us to realize that the sins we have committed against you far exceed what others have done against us. As we gaze on your crucified im-age on the cross, enable us to understand the depth of your love for us in the forgiveness of our sins. Enable us to have the same love, when we freely choose with your grace to forgive others from our heart. Let your words convict us to be reconciled with others before we offer our gifts to you at the altar. Holy Spirit, it is only with your reconciling, sanctifying grace that we can seek reconciliation and extend reconciliation. We cannot change what hap-pened in the past, but we can change our response in the present. May we be reconciled with you and others. Enable us during this year of grace to be agents of reconciliation in our family, in our church, and in our community. Amen. By: Bishop Sam Jacobs
