Report on the Wine Country Ragtime Festival

by John Partridge: Festival Director

The 2016 Wine Country Ragtime Festival (Oct 7 - 9) was a great

event. Larissa Migachyov, John Remmers, Debbie Knapp, Kylan

deGhetaldi and the Flying Eagles Jazz Band performed over a three-

day Festival in the Sonoma and Napa valleys.

The fun started with a Ragtime Preview show at Rossi's 1906 Restau-

rant in Sonoma on Friday.

Sacramento Ragtime Society Page 2 December 2016

On Saturday, we had players

in five different venues around

the Sonoma Valley

and then a Ragtime All-Star show in the

evening.

Sunday featured a Ragtime/Gospel church

service and then a benefit concert for "The

Table" - Napa's Free Meals program.

The Festival is always the 2nd weekend in October. Don't miss it next year!

2nd Annual Santa Cruz Ragtime Festival

By Michael Chisholm

If ever there was ever something to revitalize morale after a cold, snowy winter season, it's a good dose of ragtime! Mark your calendars folks, the 2nd annual Santa Cruz Ragtime Festival is almost upon us! Join us February 24th through 26th for not two, but THREE full days of the hot-test, foot stompin', barn burnin' ragtime, stride, blues, and boogie woogie piano you could ask for. Personnel has changed quite a bit, and we're ex-cited to have Andrew Barrett, Jared DiBar-tolomeo, Charlie Judkins, Jimin Park, Will Perkins, Eric Shore, and Daniel Souvigny join us this year. Several familiar faces will be return-ing, like Elliott Adams, Ramona Baker, Michael Chisholm, Danny Coots, Kylan DeGhetaldi, Carl Sonny Leyland, John Reed-Torres, Adam Swanson, and the Pacific Coast Ragtime Orchestra. Will call, ticket sales, and information to be located at Calvary Episcopal Church. In addition to Friday and Saturday evening concerts at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center, music will be performed throughout the weekend at Calvary Church, Lúpulo Craft Beer House, and outside on Pacific Avenue. Additional venues will be announced soon. Volunteers are needed! If you or someone you know is interested in helping out, please contact Michael Chisholm: [email protected] For any further questions, please contact Kylan DeGhetaldi: [email protected]
