AUTOSTART (ApplieS TO 2.4, T5 And d5)

Turn the ignition key/dial to position iii andrelease. The engine starts automatically.

ds gs must always be preheated inposition ii before the engine is started.

Used to lock/unlock the glovebox or the driver'sdoor lock, e.g. if car is without electrical power.

A. Hang the seatbelt up in the coat hanger.

B. Fold up the seat cushion.

C. Disengage the catch in the backrest and foldforward.

D. Disengage the catch in the head restraint.

E. Transfer the head restraint to the sleeves onthe underside of the seat cushion.

F. Lower the backrest.

The front passenger seat can also be lowered. SeeADJUSTING THE FRONT SEAT in point (6).

Press the button to open the fuel filler flap.Hang up the fuel filler cap during refuelling.

If the BLIS indicator lamp illuminates despitethere being no vehicle within the blind spot,the cause could be for example, reflectionfrom shiny wet road surface, own shadow onlight road surface or low sun in the camera.

In the event of a direct fault in the systemthe display shows the text BliS SeRViCeReQUiRed.

Diesel cars are equipped with a particlefilter, which results in more efficient emissioncontrol. The particles in the exhaust gases arecollected in the filter during normal driving.So-called "regeneration" is started automati-cally in order to burn away the particles andempty the filter. Engine power may be slightly

reduced during regeneration.

Emergency Brake Assistance helps toincrease brake force and so reduce brakingdistance. EBA is activated when the driverbrakes suddenly. When EBA is activated thebrake pedal lowers slightly more than usual,depress (hold) the brake pedal as long asnecessary. If the brake pedal is released thenall braking ceases.
