Logging in to S4 @ The Beach

1. Go to https://app.calstates4.com/csulb and click on “Student/Faculty Log In” and log in with your CSULB Campus ID# and Beach ID Password.

2. Once logged in you will see a screen similar to the picture below. Scroll to the bottom of

the page and click on “View my placements.”

3. You will then see your placements for EDSS 472/572B and EDSS 472/572C. You will not

see EDSS 472/572A in S4. The midterm evaluations from both your University Supervisor and Cooperating Teacher(s) can be found with your placement for EDSS 472/572B and the Final Evaluations can be found with EDSS 472/572C.

4. To send a link to your Cooperating Teacher(s) for the midterm evaluation, click on your placement next to your EDSS 472/572B course.

5. You will then see your Midterm Evaluations. There is nothing you need to do for the University Supervisor one since they will log in and complete that one on their own. For the Cooperating Teacher Evaluations, you need to click on “Complete form” to send the link to your Cooperating Teacher(s).

6. Fill in your Cooperating Teachers full name and email address to send them the link to

your evaluation.

7. Once you click Submit, an email will be sent immediately to your cooperating teacher,

with instructions and a link to complete the midterm evaluation. Be sure to tell your cooperating teacher that they will be receiving an email from “CalState S4” support@calstates4.com. It may end up in their junk or spam folder so be sure to tell them to check there if they do not see it in their inbox. Below is a sample of what the email looks like.

8. If you have additional cooperating teachers, be sure to return to your placement to submit the additional midterm evaluation Cooperating Teacher Request forms. You need to submit a separate form for each cooperating teacher so that they all get an individualized link.

Reviewing Your Evaluation

1. Log into S4 and follow steps 1-5 above to navigate to your placement. The midterm evaluations can be found with your placement for EDSS 472/572B and the final evaluations can be found with your placement for EDSS 472/572C. The only exception to this is if you are only enrolled in EDSS 472C, you will then find both the midterm and the final evaluation under EDSS 472C.

2. Once you navigate to your placement, you will see “View Submission” indicated next to the evaluations that have been submitted. Click on the “View Submission” to be able to review and print a copy of your evaluation for your records.
