A Note from the Teacher The Sunday school children continue to thrive and have a great time learning their Bible lessons. They are so eager to participate and share their thoughts and ideas. I am very impressed with how much they already know and how quickly they learn. We continue to start the lesson with a quick morning snack. The children are acclimating very well to this and are taking responsibility for cleaning up behind themselves. CLC Sunday School Beat CURRICULUM This month’s lessons have been focusing on the story of Creation from the book of Genesis. The children have engaged in lively discussions on the many wonders of God’s creations as well as why God might have created the world and man. The children were able to make their own “creations” with a play dough project. That was very cute and interesting. From the six days of creation and the Sabbath, the children moved on to learning about Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden. They had a great time working collectively to create their own “Garden of Eden” project which can be seen on the Sunday school bulletin board. This month we are discussing disobedience and the first sin that took place in the garden. They are preparing for Youth Sunday where they will continue the reading from Genesis and bring the Word on Obedience and Disobedience to God. If your child has volunteered to read please help them practice at home (they will have a copy of their reading assignment). An ongoing part of our curriculum is love, sharing and giving. We encourage the children to bring an offering to help those in need. Our current offering is slated for the American Red Cross. UPCOMING EVENTS -Martin Luther King, Jr. Kids and Family Day, Monday, January 20 th from 2:00 – 4:00. We hope you all can make it.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

MLK, Jr. Kids Day is Monday, January 20th. New games this year and still lots of prizes to be won.

This is a wonderful opportunity for kids and families to come together and live the “dream”

that Dr. King believed in.

Sunday, January 26th is Youth Sunday. The Sunday school children will be leading worship with the scriptural reading, offering The Word, and singing. Please have your child arrive by

9:15 in order to gather and prepare them for their worship service.

The Sunday school eNewsletter, in addition to being sent to Sunday school parents, will be featured in Christ Lutheran Church's monthly Chronicle. To this end, if you do not want the pictures of your child to be posted on the Chronicle please advise me as soon as possible. Otherwise, any pictures from Sunday school will only be shared with the Sunday school families.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at [email protected].

Faithfully,

Angela Tigner,

YOUTH CHOIR

The children were absolutely, outstandingly AMAZING for the Christmas concert. Their performance of Michael Jackson's "Heal the World" was a brilliant and beautiful rendition. They worked so hard on the song and it certainly showed. A huge thanks again to Annie and Jenna for all of their efforts and hard work in working with the Youth Choir. Thanks to Jordan and Tino for their performances at the concert as well. We have some really talented kids. This month the Youth Choir will be performing “This Little Light of Mine” for Youth Sunday.
