Morning Prayer (Responsive)Holy God, we embark on this Lenten journey grateful for your presence along the way. Walk alongside us to call us to repentance, to woo us from our idols, to open our eyes to our neighbor in need, to guide us in the way of sacrifice. Meet us in our fears and joys alike and sustain us in our weakness. Pour out your Spirit upon us, that these Lenten days might become for us a journey that renews our hope, strengthens our faith and prepares us for the agony of the cross as well as the new life of resurrection. Amen.

Benjamin Luxon, one of Great Britain's major international singers, appeared world-wide as a recital, concert, and opera singer of striking musical and dramatic versatility. Luxon experienced a long career performing in Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Milan, New York, Paris, Prague, Vienna, and elsewhere throughout the world. He made well over 100 recordings, from Early Music to Contemporary, and also formed a notable folk singing part-nership with banjo player Bill Crofut. His work has always been graced with high musicality, honesty and very fine acting ability. Although retired from singing, Luxon continues to con-duct master classes, direct opera, and perform and record the spoken word. David Smith comments, “To work on ‘The Soldier’s Tale’ with Ben is to work with a legend, with passion, energy, personality, and complete understanding brilliantly combined. And the generous spirit of this man is indelible. Our audiences will not forget their experience.” The essential and very virtuosic instrumental component of the “The Soldier’s Tale” will be performed by the Broad Street Chamber Players, on this occasion seven outstanding principals drawn from CITV’s Broad Street Orchestra: Elizabeth Silver, John Babich, Paul Green, Cornelia McGiver, Eric Latini, William Meckley and Benjamin Harms. CITV concerts are made possible by the generous support of many individual, institu-tional, and business supporters, including the T. Backer Fund, CITV Emerging Singer Fund, Hudson River Bank and Trust Company Foundation, Eugene M. Lang Foundation, Price Chopper Golub Foundation, and Stewart’s Shops. Kinderhook Reformed Church is especially acknowledged for its many in-kind donations. SUNDAY, APRIL 14, CITV WILL PRESENT THE BRAHMS REQUIEM AT KRC. WATCH FOR DETAILS!

~FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR FATHER FIEBKE~My name is Ted Fiebke, Rev. Edward Fiebke’s son. I am reaching out to you because my fa -ther recently passed away. He died early Monday morning, on March 19th, 2019. For nearly 30 years, the Rev. Fiebke was the Priest for St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kinder-hook, New York. He retired from St. Paul’s Church sometime during the mid to late 1990s. During his tenure at St. Paul’s Church, Father Fiebke was very much involved with the ICC Clergy which met on a regular basis. As a local ecumenical organization, the ICC Clergy was a very important to Dad. He enjoyed the regular meetings that the local clergy held for each other, and enjoyed the many ecumenical services that they planned for their congre-gations. Although all of this took place 20+ years ago, there still might be people who remember my father, including the minister who served your congregation at that time. (Please for -give me, but I do not remember her or his name.) I am sharing to you, and to the other clergy of the ICC area, information regarding my father’s funeral. Please feel free to share this information as you see fit.Location:St. Lukes On the Hill40 McBride Rd.Mechanicville, New York

Date & Time: Monday, March 25th, 2019 @ 11:00 AM

Please feel free to contact me for any questions. Thank you for your time and generous attention to my email to you.Peace and Blessings to you and your congregation,Edward (Ted) Fiebke, Jr.

CHICKEN BAR-B-Q PLANNED FOR NEXT SUNDAY, MARCH 31 Consistory is sponsoring a take-out chicken Bar-B-Q dinner open to the public on Sunday March 31, with pick-up times at 11 am, Noon, 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm. The price of the meal will be $12, and will include ½ chicken, baked potato, a delightful “secret recipe” cole slaw, and dinner roll. Desserts will also be available for a free-will dona-tion. Success of this and future Bar-B-Q fundraisers will depend, to a large extent, on the participation and support of our immediate church family and friends and our will-ingness to promote these events among neighbors and acquaintances. Tickets for this purpose are available now from members of Consistory, and proceeds from this event will be used to help pay for capital repairs badly needed at the parsonage. Additional take-out Bar-B-Q’s are being planned for Sundays in January, February, and March of next year, and will also be advertised and opened to the public. They are scheduled for winter months because this is the time of year when families are not likely to do a Bar-B-Q for themselves, but are apt to respond to the off-season tempta-tion of enjoying one prepared by someone else! Proceeds from these fundraisers will be used to address a variety of priority financial responsibilities of our church. We are appealing for volunteers to help with the March 31 Bar-B-Q. If you are willing to assist in this ministry, please contact Wayne Van Allen, 518-339-8972.
