Join us on a scaled adventure through the solar system in Schuylkill Haven. Planets created by local artists and organizations in collaboration with our middle school students

 Planet Sculptures Are distanced proportionally scaled as they would be in our solar system on a 1.5 mile path 

(calculated by Haven’s 6th Grade Students) 

The Planet Walk is a 1.5 mile adventure through the solar system. Planet sculptures illustrate the sizes of each planet and relative distances throughout the solar system. Each step is equivalent to nearly a million miles in space. Please enjoy a journey filled with education, exercise, and Art!

Sun ● Starting POint for the Planet walk

Mercury  ● Sculpture based on the astrological symbol (78 feet 

from sun)  

Venus  ● Located along Main Street (145 feet from the sun) ● Sculpture includes infographic and Brass Planet 

 

Earth ● Sculpture based on an iceberg containing the 

materials of Earth (200 feet from the sun) 

 

Mars  ● Sculpture based on A martian alien (distance from 

the sun 305 feet)  

Jupiter  ● Created with the wood of an Accoya Tree (Distance 

from the sun 1,042 feet)  

Saturn  ● Kinetic Sculpture moving with wind power 

(distance from the sun 1,911 feet)  

Uranus  ● Aluminum Sculpture which includes the off tilt axis 

with a central ring (distance from the sun 3,845 feet) 

 

Neptune ● Sculpture based on the Greek Mythological God 

neptune (Distance from the sun 6,023 feet)  

Pluto ● Sculpture based on the god Pluto, lord of the 

underworld ● Ending location to the Planet walk (distance from 

the sun 7,920 Feet)
