WILLIAM S. WILSON/JOE-JOSEPHINE-"Scott", as weaffectionately call him, returns to WVLO doing one of his favoriteroles. He is repeating the dual role of loe/Iosephine, which heplayed several years ago for the Sunnyvale Community' Theatre.Scott started out with WVLO in 1971 asa young boy in ' Fiddler onthe Roof". He returned to play Will Parker in "Oklahoma" and wasone of the featured performers in the "Rodgers and Hart MusicalCelebration". Along with performing on stage, Scott has foundtime to add Set Decoration to his list of credits for this production.Scott may think some of us have forgotten, but he was one of theoriginal performers in the Music Hair at Marriot's Great America inSanta Clara. Scott lives in San Jose. As far as his current ambitionsgo, he still claims to want to become a mild-mannered reporter fora major metropolitan newspaper. Watch out, Superman ... !
MIKE MOON/JERRY-DAPHNE-A graduate of SanJoseState and anative Californian, Mike is back with WVLO for the second time, having make his debut in "Some Enchanted Evening". Thistalented performer has played Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof", aswell as major roles in "Hello Dolly' , "Bye-Bye Birdie" and "AnnieGet Your Gun" with other local theater groups. Mike lives in SanJose and works in the Accounting Department of Xerox Corp. Hisgoals are to be "Rich, Happy, and Married". The highlight of his lifewas when he broke his foot during opening week of "SomeEnchanted Evening" and performed through the entire run of theshow with his foot in a cast (he's .an expert now in fancyfootwork ...).
BETS' JERNIGAN/SUGAR-This very talented young lady, originally from EI~in, Illinois, has studied jazz dancing and motionpicture and television acting under scholarships in Los Angeles.Bets' has performed on television in Los Angeles and San Franciscoand has done professional modelling. Some of her major roleslocally have been Marian in "Music Man", Gladys in "PajamaGame", and Maisie in "The Boy Friend". She is also a musician, playing the flute and clarinet. In September, our lovely Sugar willbe getting married and leave her home in San Jose to return tosouthern California to further her career in acting and dancing fortelevision. Bets' is dedicating her performance in the role of Sugarto her father, "One of the people who has supported me every stepof the way." We wish her the very best in reaching her goal.
LESDALE/SIR OSGOOD FIELDING-This versatile gentleman hasbeen performing on stage for only six years and wishes he hadstarted thirty-six years ago. Les has played character roles from athirty-year-old merchant seaman to an 83 year old gardener andwill be remembered by WVLO audiences for his portrayal ofFranklin Roosevelt in last season's production of "Annie". A fifthgeneration Californian, Les has worked as an engineer for PacificTelephone for almost thirty years. In addition to acting, we arefortunate to have Les as our Set Designer for this show. Les ismarried to Elizabeth, our stage manager, father of two, and soon tobe a grandpa. Les enjoys the variety and "fun of theater". In hisown words, "How sad it would be to go through life and just beme ...". Les and Elizabeth make their home in Sunnyvale.

KEN MOlAY/BIENSTOCK-Another of that rare species, theNative Californian, Ken has lived in Florida and other locales, buthad the sense to settle down in Sunnyvale. He works for AdvancedMicro Devices as a systems analyst and fortunately for WVlOaudiences is sharing his talents with us as a performer. Ken hasappeared in San Jose Civic light Opera's "Two Gentlemen FromVerona" and played the role of Nathan Detroit in SunnyvaleCommunity Theatre's production of "Guys and Dollie". As far ashobbies go, Ken confesses to being a collector of Ian Flemingnovels and James Bond paraphernalia. He also seems to be acrossword puzzle addict and can be seen with sharpened penciland furrowed brow at almost any time of the day or night. Ken'sreal ambition is to be a stand-up comedian ... in his own words ...he"has truly found a home in the theatre, but is being evicted for laterent."
TAMMY NELSON/SWEET SUE-Tammy lives in San Jose and is aSavings and New Account representative for Great WesternSavings. Seventeen years in California have removed all traces of asouthern accent from her home state of South Carolina. Tammy'sinvolvement with this production started innocently enough whenshe naively asked one of WVLO's producers how she could find outabout the next show, a dangerous question to ask any-oneconnected with WVLO. Before she knew it, her name was on 'TheList", and happy we are that she responded. Tammy comes to uswith credits for roles in "Southern Pacific", "Hello Doily","Harvey", and "My Three Angels". Tammy hopes to do moreshows in the future. With her great voice and cheerful personality,we are sure her hopes will be realized.

...from the Producers ...
It is not too often that a successful screen vehicle is adapted for the stage. "SUGAR" is one ofthese rarities, having been originated on film as "SOME LIKE IT HOT". The same memorablecharacters made the transition with ease to the Broadway stage and is presented here today foryour enjoyment. Sit back and relax and let yourself be carried back to the gangster days of oldChicago, and then to the carefree frolicking of millionaires in Miami ...(the original Dirty OldMen)
FAYRA/DIRECTOR- This talented lady comes to us with a greatdeal of experience both as a professional performer and as adirector. Fayra is also a teacher of many facets of theatre artsincluding "How to Audition", "How to Apply Make-up",as well asacting. Her students range from junior high age to senior citizens.Fayra resides in Scotts Valley and is ~urrently a drama instructor forMonterey Peninsula and Cabrillo Colleges and conductsworkshops in the Santa Cruz schools for SPECTRA. Fayra has pliedher directorial craft in Seattle, Monterey and Santa Barbara, andmore recently, in the Bay Area with Star Players, the NorthsideTheater Company and most recently for the Saratoga ChamberTheatre in the critically acclaimed production of "Luv."
LORRAINE STRIBLING/MUSIC DIRECTOR-Our warm-heartedMusic Director, from Los Gatos, is originally from Los Angeles andlived at Lake Tahoe where she managed a motel for nine years. Amother of five, she found time to play with the Reno MunicipalBand and was one of the charter members of the San JoseSymphonic Band, playing bass. clarinet. Lorraine has been playingthe clarinet since she was a third grader and has played in the reedsection of many musicals in this area. Lorraine was the musicdirector for Pheonix Production's presentation of "Babes in Arms",She is currently employed as a software librarian for
Semiconductor Corporation. Lorraine is a most welcome additionto the WVLO staff.
DIANE REYNOLDS/CHORAL DIRECTOR-A favorite with the. performers of many WVLO productions, this lovely lady has tickledthe ivories on stage and off for auditions, rehearsals andperformances. She treats her singers with TLC and can coax thebest out of anyone. Diane comes from a musical family, havingstarted her own "career" at the tender age of 8 for ColumbiaPictures. She studied music at Long Beach and Fullerton colleges. Her talented children are following in her footsteps with son Rick, who has his own musical group, and daughter Robin, our assistantchoreographer. In her "real" life, Diane resides in Los Gatos and isan accounting supervisor for General Electric. She is also thetreasurer for the Community Players of Los Gatos-Saratoga. Don'ttell anyone but Diane secretly aspires to be on-stage in the role of alady bass.
BRIEN TIMOTHY MAHONEY/CHOREOGRAPHER-This nativeNew Yorker, now residing in San Jose, is playing a repeatperformance as a master craftsman in the art of dance. Brienchoreographed "Annie" at this theatre last season and hasreturnee to put our dancers through their paces. If they can survivehis warm-up exercises, they can do anything. This task-master hasp, erformed on-stage in "Oliver", "Anything Goes", "Pippin",'Mame ", "Sugar", and "My Fair Lady", to name just a few of hiscredits. He was seen most recently in Saratop,a Drama Group'sproduction of "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers '. Brien spends hisdaytime hours in Victorian architecture and archeology and thereare rumors that he is a gourmet cook. We'll verify that after hecooks up the fantastic dinner he has promised us (providingcooks up the fantastic dinner he has promised us (providing webring our own dinnerware ...).

"MY FAIR LADY" - Universally hailed asperhaps the greatest musical ever written because ofAlan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's masterful musical transformation of Shaw's"Pygmalion", it inspires a virtuoso performance from every member of the cast. Songs sobeloved that each one stops the show: "With a Little Bit of Luck", "Wouldn't It Be Loverly?","The Rain in Spain", "I Could Have Danced All Night", "Get Me To The Church On Time","I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face", just to hit the high spots. PerformancesNovember!December 1985
"DAMES AT SEA" - This 1930'smusical opened on Broadway Dee. 20,1968, to rave reviews. Ithas won the praise of critics and the hearts of audiences to make it one of the biggest hits ofmany a season. For "Dames At Sea" is really not about the 1930's, but about the campynostalgia of the Hollywood musical extravaganzas of the 30's. It won the New York TimesOuter Circle Critics Award as best musical of the year. Performances March! April 1986
"IRENE" - This revival of the 1919 hit, which opened on Broadway in 1973, marked anotherfull-fledged love affair with the real musical theatre - a theatre which genuinely entertainssimply because it offers a basic blockbuster melange of great songs, an uncomplicated bookand a wonderfully optimistic outlook - who could ask for more! The major part of the scorewas written by Harry Tierney with lyrics by Joseph McCarthy. Others contributed to suchsongs as "Alice Blue Gown", "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows", "Irene", and "You Made MeLove You". Performances Iune/Iuly/ August 1986
