Both parents are asked to attend the baptismal
preparation class prior to the celebration of the
sacrament. The ideal time to attend is during the
pregnancy. Please call for an appointment. MARRIAGES
Wedding arrangements should be made at least six
months prior to the desired date. Call Rectory for an

Special Mission Collection Today Today’s second Collection benefits the Missions throughout the world. We are “sent out “to do missionary work in the name of Jesus through our prayers and personal sacrifices for our brothers and sisters around the world. As little as $25 helps to support a catechist for a month in remote Latin America. $75 provides for the work of religious Sisters caring for orphaned children in Africa. $100 assists poor children in boarding schools in Asia. Your prayers and financial help, offered on this WORLD MISSION SUNDAY support mission priests, religious Sisters and Brothers, and lay catechists who are Christ’s witnesses to a world so in need of His healing, love, and peace. for autumn through Thanksgiving.
Dunkirk, New York October 17/18th, 2020 Jesus Helps Us to See God There’s a story about some older men who gathered to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their college graduation. Naturally, all of them had changed in appearance over the years – they were grayer, heavier, balder, more wrinkled and so on. But instead of providing name tags, as some reunions do, the master of ceremonies decided that it would be more fun to have each man stand up in turn and have the others try to identify him using as a guide the picture from their college yearbook, which the men had on the tables in front of them. As they proceeded, they were able to identify all but one man. Nothing in his present appearance gave him away. Finally, the man said, “All right! I see that you do not remember me. Wait just a moment and I will give you a clue.” With that, he stepped out of the room and then came back with a good–looking young man by his side. “This,” he said, “is my son. Now do you know who I am?” Almost immediately several men called out his name. The appearance of the son, who resembled his father, enabled the other men to identity the father.
Remember in Your Will, Your Parish, and St. Mary’s Cemetery You can continue to do the work of the church long after you have departed this world by naming your parish in your will. For legal purposes, our title is “St Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church Society of Dunkirk, New York also keep in mind that monies left for masses do not benefit the church but rather the priest who will celebrate the mass. It is usually better to leave a legacy gift directly to the church or cemetery rather than leave a large sum for masses .We will be grateful to announce you donation in the bulletin if you wish it announce.
Catholic Cemetery Moment If you are considering cremation, it is well to keep in mind certain preferences and stipulations. The cremated remains of a body should be buried or entombed, preferably in a Catholic Cemetery. The Church does not allow scattering cremated remains, dividing cremated remains or keeping them in the home for a long time.
