ECOLOGY GRASSLAND ECOSYSTEM STUDY ADAPTED TO SUIT JUNIOR CERT AND LEAVING CERT PROGRAMMES
OVERVIEW: Students will conduct an investigation of a grassland ecosystem including qualitative and quantitative plant and animal surveys. CONSERVATION & STEWARDSHIP PERFECT FOR TY & CSPE STUDENTS
OVERVIEW: Students explore the role of zoos in wildlife conservation as well as their individual duty of care. The module includes an engaging presentation, biofacts and a case study.
AN INTRODUCTION TO BIOGEOGRAPHY
OVERVIEW: Programme includes a presentation with a focus on historical biogeography and highlights the contributions of Darwin, Wallace and Wegener to the field of biogeography. Presentation is followed by a guided tour of the zoo where we investigate animal adaptations and explore the ecological facets of biogeography.
