Developed primarily to meet ENC requirement for an IMO compliant ECDIS Inflexible maintenance regime (freezing of editions)Cannot support contemporary requirements gridded bathymetry, time-varying information, etcData transfer mechanisms are limited data model embedded in encapsulation (ISO 8211)
