The community is known for strong leadership, a serious commitment to robust growth of businesses and an outstanding lifestyle for families. With immediate access to I-70 and an excellent regional work force, Russell is ideal for business and industrial projects. Russell is a hospitality center for Wilson Lake which has 100 miles of shoreline and 9,000 surface acres managed by the U.S Army Corps of Engineers. It attracts serious sporting enthusiasts and families on vacation or weekend outings as a destination to enjoy record-setting fishing, boating, hunting, camping, and picnicking. The widely regarded school system, youth programs and cultural opportunities meet the high expectations of families, many of whom have chosen to locate here. Personally, with prized memories of growing up in Russell, I appreciate all that my parents, teachers, mentors and friends provided. I always look forward to returning to my hometown and the Dole family home just a block off North Main Street.”
