What is the RWIC?

• Partnership of funding and technical assistance entities who meet to:– Address a wide range of water and wastewater

infrastructure needs in Arizona communities– Coordinate federal, state, local and private

sector resources– Provide avenues to obtain financial and technical

assistance, training and information

Who is the RWIC?

• Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona (WIFA)

• USDA Rural Development (USDA RD)• Greater Arizona Development Authority (GADA)• North American Development Bank (NADBank)• Border Environment Cooperation Commission

(BECC)• Arizona Small Utilities Association (ASUA)• Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC)

Why Attend a RWIC Project Meeting?

• Water/wastewater infrastructure needs

• Search for financing options

• Insufficient water quality/quantity problems

• Septic tank problems

• General troubleshooting

• Need of technical assistance

What RWIC Project Meetings Do

• Brainstorming opportunities to find solutions to water and wastewater issues

• Practical suggestions for technical, operational or financing– Possible solutions, follow-up actions; referrals– Training, onsite visits, one-on-one technical

assistance, meetings with elected officials

• Guide a project to the next stepsnext steps

RWIC Project Meeting Agenda

• Each meeting lasts 45 minutes to an hour10 min – Introductions

15 min – Presentation of project by community

20 min – Technical discussion of project

20 min – Discussion of financing options 15 min – Summary & next steps

Chair provides written summary, contacts and phone numbers after the meeting.

After the RWIC Project Meeting

• Someone from RWIC will follow-up with the community

• Follow the next steps provided by the RWIC

Getting Started with RWIC

• Complete the “Project Information Form”

• RWIC will schedule a Project Meeting

• Present and discuss project with RWIC participants at Project Meeting

• Participate in follow-up meetings if applicable
