Museo SugboMuseo Sugbo was once a prison built in 1871 where criminals were incarcerated

including some Katipuneros during the Philippine revolution and Japanese occupation. It

used to be named Carcel de Cebuwhich means Provincial Jail of ebu then to P!" in the

1#8$s. In %$$& 'overnor 'wen 'arcia headed the transfer of P!" to a more modern and

spacious prison comple( which then turn Carcel de Cebuto Museo Sugbo: The Cebu

Provincial Museum. It is the repositor) of ebuano and Philippine *eritage and was

inaugurated on +ugust ,- %$$8.

he ebu Provincial Museum is divided into di/erent galleries that housed in four

separate buildings and are in chronological order. It0s as if )ou are timetravelling or
