Rules and regulations for Entries

Organization

The “Amorgos Film Festival” is an International Tourism Film Festival, taking place annually on

Amorgos island during the works of the “Amorgos International Convention for Culture & Tourism”

and is organized by the Women’s Cultural Association of Tholaria - Amorgos.

This year it will take place at Aegialis Hotel & Spa from October 26th to October 29th, 2017.

Objectives

The Festival aims:

To promote Greece, particularly Amorgos Island and the Cyclades island complex, as a tourist

destination.

To popularize and encourage the implementation of green practices in tourism, driven by the

need for social responsibility and sustainable development.

To encourage short film production and foster a spirit of friendship and cooperation among

producers from around the world.

Rules & Regulations for Entries

Films taking part in the event should meet the following requirements:

Film production has to be completed after January 1st, 2016 (inclusive).

The total duration of the film cannot exceed the respective duration according to the

Production Type section: Commercials up to 01min. Promotional Films up to

15minutes. Documentaries up to 30 minutes. Greek Films up to 30 minutes.

The films should be in their original language with English Subtitles, if the original

language is not English.

Applicants should fill in all the required fields of the entry form and sign it.

Film Applications

All entry forms should reach the organizers no later than August 15th, 2017.

Please specify “No commercial value, for cultural purpose only”.

Each submission must be accompanied by:

The entry form completed, signed and sealed by both the producer(s) and the director.

Director’s photo (jpeg or tiff formats).

Promotional material of the film (photos, posters, trailer, etc.)

Copyright and Broadcast Rights

Entrants are responsible in any manner whatsoever for any content included within the submitted film

and for their usage of restricted or copyrighted material.

The Festival has the right to reject any material that does not align with the character and objectives

of its program.

All submitted film copies, entry forms and promotional material become the property of the Festival

and are kept in the Festival’s archive.

The “Amorgos Film Festival” reserves the right to screen all or some of the films submitted, during

the Festival or outside the Festival venue and use them for the Festival’s catalogue, website or the

Press whenever it is needed for promotional purposes.

Jury

The films to be awarded are selected by the International Jury on the basis of the Following criteria’s:

Technical Quality

Artistic Quality

Originality

Appropriate to the Goals/target Group

Each criteria is evaluated on a scale of 1 to 5 points.

“Cycladic Idol” – Best film of the Festival

Best Commercial

Best Promotional Film

Best Documentary

Best Greek Film

Certificates of participation

Each entry receives a Certificate of Participation issued by the Organizing Committee of the Festival.

Exclusive rights of the Organizing Committee

The Artistic Director of the Festival reserves the right to determine the Festival's program and

make changes if necessary.

The Organizing Committee decides and is responsible for the film screening schedule (day

and hour) during the Festival.

Acceptance of regulations

The use of any recording device in the Festival venue without the prior consent of the

Organizing Committee is strictly forbidden.

Parts of the event will be recorded. The Organizing Committee is not liable for any claims

resulting from members of the audience or artists appearing in the recordings.

Submission of the entry form to the International Short Tour Film Festival implies unconditional

acceptance of the present regulations.
