INVITATIONDepartment of Pharmacy, BITS‐Pilani would like to invite you to theInternational Conference on Challenges in Drug Discovery and Delivery(ICCD3) b h ld B l I f T h l d S P l(ICCD3) to be held in Birla Institute of Technology and Science‐Pilani,Rajasthan, India in March 2‐4, 2017. The conference will have invitedlectures from eminent scientists in the field from around the globe. Further, during this three‐day event, the participants will have opportunities tomeet network colleagues and present their latest research findings as oralshort communications / posters. The future networking opportunities/ p g ppbetween the research groups will be also discussed.
THEME OF THE CONFERENCEDuring the past few years, pharmaceutical industry has evolved to be moreknowledge‐based and innovation driven industry. Drug discovery programhas gone through series of transformations from random screening toti l d d i Thi h h d id d b tt h f ttirational drug design. This change had provided better chances of getting
successful hits. However there is still an unmet need for the development ofnew therapies particularly for chronic diseases due to development ofresistance and failure of current therapies. This results in the lookout fornewer methods including in silico design, high throughput screening, etc.Due to the cost and time involved in the R&D, efforts have also beendirected from drug discovery to drug product development. Attempts arebeing made to improve the efficacy of the already known therapeuticmolecules by repackaging them into the novel delivery systems. Howeverthe academic research conducted in this arena still requires strong linkwith the industry and identification of challenges in their commercialdevelopment I d hi h d i ddevelopment. In order to achieve the desired
pharmaceutical product, an amalgamation ofvarious fields including synthetic and naturalproduct chemistry, pharmaceutical analysis, molecular biology, biotechnology, pharmacology and novel drug delivery isp gy g yrequired. This conference is an effort to bringtogether such diverse specialists to identifythe unmet needs of this multidisciplinary fieldand provide vision on future path.
Experts from international and national academic community as well asindustry will be invited to bridge the gap between industry and academiaindustry will be invited to bridge the gap between industry and academia.Knowledge seekers will get an opportunity to understand the importance oflatest pharmaceutical and biomedical research.
Authors are invited to submit their significant original and unpublishedcontributions on the topics listed below, but certainly not limited to:
