Rudozem Street Dog Rescue (RSDR) is a non-profit foundation that rescues street dogs in Bulgaria and finds loving homes for them.

Shelter visit

• In April 2014 our school organised a visit in the animal shelter in Rudozem (a small town in the south-eastern part of the Rhodope mountain).

The shelter is operated by an English family that came to live in Bulgaria and were appalled by the plight of stray animals.

The conditions in the shelter are far from perfect, but the animals are safe, warm, fed, and – most importantly – loved.
