Did you find this post helpful? |Re: RSSI and RTWP

RTWP:The RTWP reflects the total noise level within the UMTS frequency band of one

    single cell.

    now !ore What is RTWP?

RSS":Received Signal Strength "ndicator indicates the strength of the inco!ing #received$

    I' t&e value is around -(" d#m, t&e situation is ugly, wit& strong uplink inter'erers!

)sually we &ave *ig&, +ow and edium measures o' RTWP! *owever, t&e maimum andminimum values are recommended only as auiliary or re'erence, since t&ey may &ave been

    T&us, t&e value t&at &elps us, and &as t&e most accurate in'ormation is t&e same ean

    RTWP.

    /or cases in w&ic& cell &as two carriers, t&e di''erence between t&em RTWP s&ould noteceed d#!

What to do in case of problems?

    We &ave seen t&at RTWP can cause per'ormance degradation, mainly 34 3all 5rops! 6ote

    Actually, it7s not RTWP t&at causes per'ormance degradation! W&at &appens is t&at w&en itsvalue is 7bad7, it7s actually indicating t&e presence o' inter'erence - t&e latter being

    responsible 'or degradation!

#ut w&at can we do w&en we 'ind bad values8

I' RTWP is not at acceptable levels, some actions s&ould be taken!

    T&e 'irst t&ing to do is c&eck i' t&ere is a con'iguration issue wit& t&e R63 or 6ode#! T&is is t&e

most common case, especially in cases o' new activations!

9nce veri'ied t&e parameter settings, t&e net step is t&e p&ysical eamination, especially :umpersand cables, o'ten partially reversed! It also s&ould be c&ecked i' t&ere is 'aulty transmitters, or any

    ot&er problem t&at could generate intermodulation between t&e 6ode# and t&e antenna!

    I' t&e parameter settings and &ardware are ok, t&e c&ance is very &ig& t&at we &ave eternal

    inter'erence, suc& as a Inter'erer Repeater!

    In cases w&ere t&ere may be eternal inter'erence, we must begin to act a'ter suc& aprioriti;ation based on &ow muc& t&is is a''ecting t&e cell
