RTU32 Power Supply options

• Industrial power supply integrated.

• 3 main versions;

– 12VDC supply (10-16VDC), no isolation

– 24-48VDC supply (20-60VDC), 4kV isolation to electronics.

– 115-230VAC/DC (90-265V), 4kV isolation to electronics.

• 12VDC output for wedding current for I/Os – max. 200mA.

RTU32 Integrated I/Os

The RTU32 comes in one integrated I/O version – 26IO;

• 16 x Digital inputs, PNP transistor type 10-30VDC, opto isolated to 2kV, also work as slow 32bit counter inputs up to 100Hz. Optional input voltage version for up to 60VDC

• 4 x Relay outputs, more than 3kV isolation, max. switching current 1A.

• 4 x Analogue inputs, 14bit, individual configurable for +/-5V, 0-5V, +/-10V, 0-10V, 0-20mA and 4-20mA, 500V isolation.

• 2 x Analogue outputs, 14bit, individual configurable for +/-5V, 0-5V, +/-10V, 0-10V, 0-20mA and 4-20mA, no isolation.

LocalBus – the interface for I/O Expansion

• LocalBus Interface is RJ45/50.

• LocalBus for connecting up to 32 I/O Expansion modules – equals +1000 I/Os.

• RTU32 provides power supply at up to 1000mA for Expansion modules

– Power supply exceeding 1000mA requires additional power supply e.g. UCS-53 or UCS-54

– Use special LocalBus cable for additional power supply e.g. UCC-513.

• I/O Expansion modules include a large range of different I/O combinations;

– Examples: 16DI, 32DI, 32DO, 8DIO, 16DIO, 8 RO, 8AI, 4AO

– Input/output is PNP, NPN, relay, process signals, temp sensors Pt100, thermocouple etc. - see I/O Expansion selection guide and data sheets for details.

• Notes;

– LocalBus cables UCC-5xx comes in different length – but max. 100cm.

– Limitation is LocalBus I/O is not in number of physical I/Os but in number of modules.

• File system is both RAM based and FLASH based.

STRATON Specifications

• Max number of programs

– The max number of program and sub programs in a project is limited to 32767.

• Max size of program

– The maximum size of an application program is limited to 64kb of compiled code. The limitation is not restricted to actual lines of code as the lines do not equal the size of the executable program downloaded to the RTU32.

• I/O limitations

– If you have a STRATON WorkBench license with I/O limitations of e.g. 512 I/O – this is the limitation. If you are using an unlimited license you can create unlimited number of I/Os.

• Limitation of incoming Communication and Binding Server connections

– Max. 32 Communication Server connections – e.g. ModbusTCP Clients

– Max. 32 Event Server connections – e,g. STRATON Binding connections from other runtimes.

– In general the STRATON WB takes one of each.

• Typical PLC runtime performance - complete cycle time < 5ms (based on PLC application with 2000 lines of ST code and 3 drivers running – IEC60870-5-104 Server, IEC61850 Client with 4 connections and ModbusTCP Client with 4 connections)

• Integrated and LocalBus I/Os are accessible in 3 ways;

– As Board I/O

Binding – fast event based communication

STRATON Binding is a fast and simple way to distribute communication from any STRATON enabled device to another STRATON enabled device (RTU <> RTU and RTU <> SCADA)

The RTU32R main features are;
