Powerful PLC, RTU and Automation Controller – combines all the best in one box!

• High performance PLC with very fast program execution even with advanced and heavy

mathematical calculations.

• Flexible Gateway supporting and running several communication drivers at the same time without

reducing the PLC program performance.

• Open IPC with Realtime Operating System and well known file system

• Effective and flexible RTU functions as RTC with millisec resolution, data logger functions, remote

programming and control etc.

• Enhanced functions for failsafe applications including UPS, redundancy support for both

application and communication.

Energy Applications / Reference Application

Sanofi Avensis – France

Project description

• 28 10kV substations monitored and controlled at Sanofi Avensis production plant. ZenOn

SCADA in redundancy used as central control facility

• RTU32 in redundancy setup are used as central data concentrators. RTU32 are controlling

substations in each of the 26 factory buildings

• STRATON Fast event driver are used for communication between SCADA, data

concentrators and substation RTUs

Why did they use Brodersen RTU32?

• Provide very fast communication – SCADA-RTU and RTU-RTU

• Simple and fast configuration of the binding fast event communication with time stamps

Gas Pipe Line monitoring and control – STEG Tunisia

Project description

• 1500 km pipe line monitored and controlled by 35 RTU32 and 130 RTU870

communicating with central ABB MicroSCADA

• Communication via Ethernet backbone, VHF Brodersen UCW Data Radios and

GSM dial modem using EN/IEC60870

• Complete redundant communication network to all smaller sites and triple

redundance on larger sites with RTU32

Why did they use Brodersen RTU32/RTU870/communication devices?

• RTUs support redundant communication on all specified communication links

• Data Radio system is complete with Masters, Repeaters and Slaves for this type of

large geographical application

• RTUs can communicate with remote site equipment (gas chromatografs, valves

etc.)

Project description

• 50 km water pipe line monitored and controlled by 60 RTU32 communicating with central

KTC SCADA

Why did they use Brodersen RTU32?

• STRATON PLC runtime was the perfect tool to create advanced calculation

algorithmens for controllling the flow in the pipe line critical sections where the higth level

falls almost 200meter in less than 1 km pipe line

Airport Control System – Copenhagen Airport

Project description

• Copenhagen airport landing lights, Instrument Landing System (ILS) and power backup

system are monitored and controlled by 60 RTU32

• The application are unique with its complete redundant communication system provided by

2 fully seperated network segment ensuring communication safety

• Central workstation and RTU32 are all based on STRATON PLC runtime

• More than 5000 I/O are handled over the STRATON Fast event based redundant

communication

Why did they use Brodersen RTU32?

• RTU32 provides as standard 2 LAN interfaces working as individual network adapters

• STRATON PLC runtime provide the redundant communication and is very simple to

configure – just define 2 IP addresses and the runtime handles the rest

• The open and flexible software environment made it possible for the System Integrator to

create a simple configuration and maintenance tool using an Excel sheet for complete

configuration of any RTU32 in the application
