RtI is about intervening and adjusting instruction to meet students’ needs instead of thinking there is something “wrong” with the child.
After this session, you will have a shared understanding of the Basics of RtI listed below.

Specially Designed interventions with progress monitoring

Every minute counts!
Quality Intervention!
It takes a knowledgeable professional to diagnose student needs. It is student centered.
Instructional efforts are coordinated between tiers I and II.
Interventions are highly engaging interactions.
The focus is on acceleration over remediation.
It requires rich assessment that incorporates both formative and summative measures.

Our Roadmap to Instructional Excellence is for every student and every teacher. As we go forward we must be committed to insuring that every child has access to the guaranteed and viable curriculum. RtI is one of the “best practices” that we will need to reach our target!
We are at the crossroads.
Can do!
_______ I now know that the “Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum” for all students is key to the RtI process.
_______ I now know that data-based decision making is basic to the RtI process.
_______ I now know that balanced assessment and the problem solving team approach and professional learning communities (PLC) are involved in the RtI process.
_______ I am beginning to understand that targeted interventions and progress monitoring will occur in Tier II.
_______ I am beginning to understand that specially designed intervention and progress monitoring will occur in Tier III.
Stay tuned for more RtI on Feb 24th! After that day you will be an RtI Whiz!!
