The RNSH Patient and Carer Accommodation is

a short term accommodation facility managed by

the Northern Sydney Local Health District. It

provides accommodation for people living in

regional and rural areas receiving treatment at

RNSH.

The Isolated Patients Travel and Accommodation

Assistance Scheme (IPTAAS) may cover

accommodation charges for patients living more

than 100km from treatment, and who are unable

to obtain specialist treatment closer to home.

Getting there

The most convenient parking for

visitors to the Royal North Shore

Hospital Douglas Patient and

Carer Accommodation is available in

the Wilson’s P2 Car Park located on Reserve Road in

front of the Hospital.

Fees are displayed at the entrance. Access to the car

park is via Westbourne Street or Reserve Road.

Long stay disabled parking is also available on

Westbourne Street.

Parking

Access is via the main entry of the Douglas

Building. Take the lifts in the main lobby to Level 3.

Kitchen and Dining Areas

Kitchenettes (microwaves only) including a lounge

and dining area are available for guests.

Alternatively, low cost meals can be purchased

from the RNSH’s eateries, Zouki. There are also

nearby restaurants and a supermarket located

within walking distance from the Hospital.

Laundry

Laundry facilities are available for guests.

Single, Twin and Interconnecting Rooms

Guests can be accommodated in single or twin

rooms. All guest rooms have the convenience of

private ensuite bathrooms. Families are able to

request interconnecting rooms. Wheelchair

accessible rooms are available.

Transport

Buses can be accessed from Reserve Road and

Pacific Highway. St Leonards Train Station is

located within the Forum on the corner of

Herbert Street and Pacific Highway.

There is a taxi stand opposite the Oval on

Reserve Road.
