IGNITION February 2015
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
It was a quiet Holiday Season & I have been back at work for several weeks, we have been busy Upgrading a Number of the Varsity Lec-ture Theatres and have the Summer school Exams coming up shortly..
I have been able to contact the Owner of the old Seacliffe Hospital
and are to meet next week to arrange a time for a visit.
I hope those I sent the Xmas Advent Calendar were able to use them.
There was a section that was only able to be opened as the days were
reached & the other areas that contain the Puzzles & Games that
were able to be opened any time..
Again Sorry about not putting the Rover sign out when I had the
B.B.Q.
I understand some folks were unable to find it.
The SD1 is in the Current Classic Driver Mag & on the website but as
yet I have not received any enquiries, I have put the Reg. on Hold ,
purchased a car cover and it is now covered up.
The Tom-Cat is going fine, except for the occasional miss start.
We had a standard turnout for our Feb meeting.
It is still at Mosgiel RSA starting 6.30pm. They are well into their
Building upgrading & meals will be starting shortly.
See Minutes for those who attended.
Next meeting bring your thoughts of where to hold 2016 Rover Rally.
Suggestions:-Back to Easter and some-where Central seems most
popular. Need to decide and take info to 2015 Rally.
That’s all for now,
DRIVE SAFE OUT THERE

Association of Rover Car Clubs Rally 2015 The news is all good on the Rally front. We have received a steady stream of registrations for the Rally, a reminder that the earlybird discounted rate for the Rally ends on 1 February 2015. We will be ordering badges and other special regalia in quantities based on the number of entries in early February, so late entries will not be guaranteed badges if we run out. Just prior to Christmas, the Copthorne had received bookings for nine rooms. Warrick has done an excellent job of seeking out sponsorship for the Rally. So far we have pledges of sponsorship from Rimmer Brothers, Auto Classics in Paraparaumu, RJR Spares (formerly Rodney Wreckers) with Warrick following up other firms. I’m delighted with these re-sults; they will make such a difference to the Rally. We are also putting contingency plans in place for inclement weather.
