Purpose

- The only purpose drilled university teaching and research well

in the Southern Hemisphere

- Engineered to ‘Oil /Gas field’ specifications

- Technical advice received from Uni of Texas, Austin and

funding and collaboration from:

Santos for initial set up of the Petroleum Engineering School, the

building and this experimental well and Schlumberger who donated

technical expertise, logging time, use of their truck mounted unit and

tools.

Project Status

• Downhole completion primary / conceptual, and detailed designs were undertaken.(Gas well with liquid loading problems, Oil well under artificial gas lift)

• Conceptual and Detailed design and FEED studies were successfully finalized under the supervision of Santos industry support and ASP academics.

• Required equipment and suppliers were identified.

What is next?

• Project cost estimate = AU$ 1.1 MM

• Funding and collaboration/ support to the project (Donation of some equipment, and free installation / services).

We are happy to modify the test well design to accommodate the industry needs. The idea is to complement the Onshore Petroleum Centre and make of both an education and training facility of excellence. Slide 29
