RosenkllasjnThe artificial lake in the nature reserve Tinner in Linkping

The lakeRosenkllasjn is in the nature reserve Tinner in Linkping. It is located in the southern part and it is Linkopings main bird lake. The lake was one of all the lakes and wetlands that were drained at the end of the 1800s and early 1900s . In the 1940s the lake disappeared completely.

Overgrown in more than 100 yearsBut after it had been overgrown in more than 100 years they choose in 2004 to recreate the lake which was a part of the project Tinnerbcken which was one of Linkping municipality's LIP projects (local investment programme for ecologically sustainable development) which was implemented in 2002-2004. Today they have recreate lakes and wetlands for the benefit of animals and plants .

Why they rebuilt it The reasons were primarily biological like creating a good water environment for animal- and plant species.

Another reason was to create a big water area in the otherwise water-poor landscape South of Linkping city.

The reconstruction

When they rebuilt the lake they built a cement dam at the lake's outlet. The recreating of the lake is one of several conservation projects in the nature reserve Tinner oak woodlands culture and nature.

Animallife in RosenkllasjnAt the beginning of summer, in May and June are the nesting for the lakes all species.

In the fall in October and November, swans come back and they stay as long as the Lake is not completely iced.

When there is bad weather, comes the country's three species of swallows and in the evening comes the bats that want to eat newly hatched insects.
